my girlfriend got me a LW threaded barrel for my g-23 for christmas so i could shoot lead bullets through my glock. my problem is that i can not fire more than 7 rounds before the gun jams up. if i load up a 13 rnd mag i can hand cycle the full mag with no jams. it's when i try to shoot a full mag i get a FTB between the 6th and 7th rnd. if i clean out the chamber it will run again for the next 6 to 7 rnds. seems like this barrel has a tight chamber and is fouling rather quickly in the chamber and causing failure to RTB. the lead bullet is the Lee 175TC, lube is Lyman super moly, powder is bullseye. i know that bullseye is a little dirty. so my question is, has anyone here experinced this same problem when trying to shoot lead out of their LW barrel. is there a trick to getting these barrels to run with lead bullets. all reloaded rounds were inserted into barrel with barrel out of pistol to ensure all would feed any tips would be greatly appreciated...

When you drop the rounds into the chamber, do they make it all the way in under the force of gravity? Do they fall out when you turn it over?
Other jacketed reloads?
How do factory rounds do?
Do the same thing with your stock barrel. What are the test results?
What COL on your TCL's?
I just picked up a LW threaded barrel but I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. However my other LW barrel runs like a champ. Try running some factory ammo through it and see if it runs okay. If not then contact Lone Wolf or JR here on boards.
Nice to have a smart GirlFriend, isn't it...
Easiest thing to do is to call Lone Wolf and ask for some help with this.
They will take care of you... and you are right, their chambers do run tight. Pretty sure they call their barrels "match grade" which is almost always a tighter chamber.

Drop a round into the chamber and remove it. Look closely around the middle to the tip of the bullet for any scratches. I suspect the projectile is engaging the rifling. If this is true set you seating die back a couple turns and recheck. If you do not want to set your bullet back, return the barrel to us and we will knock back the rifling to accommodate your load. Be sure to include 3 or 4 dummy rounds (loaded round, no powder or primer). This way we will be able to cycle them and prove its function before returning the barrel to you.

thanks for the response and the tip JR. i re-seated all my lead rounds a little deeper but won't be able to test them until friday. did not notice any marks on any of the rounds factory or reloads. hopefully this will cure the problem as i really don't want to have to send this barrel back, but if i do i will make up a couple of dummy rounds as per your instructions. thanks again JR.
