RyanNREMTP 01-12-2008, 11:03 What like goals for the year? Ok, if so than I plan on shooting thousands of rounds this year. And if possible look at getting another .40 cal pistol. TLHelmer 01-12-2008, 20:25 Goals: To go back to the .40, but it won't happen. Pops 1 01-13-2008, 21:34 Get A HI-Point 40 Carbine. Pops Michiglock 01-16-2008, 15:48 Acquired a Ruger PC 4. Very nice!! rfd339 01-18-2008, 01:10 fnp-40 for me this year BillHickock 01-18-2008, 13:38 Gotta get another Sig. Rusty Guns 01-22-2008, 23:30 Keepin my G24 and shooting lots of rounds. Still carry the G23 on a daily basis. Hey Steve Keep on Glockin!! Rusty MarkTX 01-25-2008, 18:50 Just to hard to find this forum with the current board setup... :crying: Bert.40 01-25-2008, 22:02 Just to hard to find this forum with the current board setup... :crying: Try the User CP option. DonGlock26 01-25-2008, 23:28 Let's see. I'd like to get Big Dots sights for my G-23. Perhaps, a few more mags. I'd like a Bianchi #100 IWB, and a Desantis Belt slide holster. That should do it. Bert.40 01-26-2008, 07:13 I'd like big dots for my model 22. Don't need anything new; but I want a new handgun; thinking maybe a Berretta. Giggity-Giggity 01-26-2008, 14:10 For 2008, looking int a G27 or G22 in OD Green. I currently have the G35 & G23. SDGlock23 01-26-2008, 22:17 I think I may try and hunt me down a Glock 24. Thought about trading the G38 towards a G27 too. fastbolt 01-27-2008, 14:34 Well, I was really leaning toward ordering a M&P 40 compact ... but I've pretty much decided to order a M&P 45 instead. I have enough small .40's, including a polymer-framed one, but I don't have a polymer .45 yet. ;) Bert.40 01-27-2008, 15:29 I have enough .45's; and .40's....maybe it's time for a 10mm. :devildance: fastbolt 01-27-2008, 18:10 I've always thought about picking up a 10mm pistol. After handling and shooting one of the very early G20's (late '90), with Norma 10mm ammunition, I decided the Glock offering just didn't suit my preferences. I should have bought a brand new S&W 1006 or 1066 when I had the chance. Sigh ... I've been told that the chance of S&W ever making a 10mm in their traditional metal-framed line is virtually non-existant. When I asked someone at Ruger about a P90 actually being chambered in 10mm ... the caliber for which the platform was originally designed ... I was told that it was just a marketing/profitability issue. The commercial production & sale of 10mm ammunition, as reported by the MAJOR ammunition manufacturers, just didn't indicate enough of a potential market to make it profitable. Nobody seems to have watched Field of Dreams :tongueout: I'd buy a Ruger P90 chambered in 10mm or a metal-framed S&W and add the 10mm to my ammunition inventory ... but I'm not holding my breath. It's not a caliber which is important enough to me to settle for a pistol other than what I'd prefer to own and use, though. camaro_dave 01-27-2008, 20:59 i'd like to get a G27 again... pliskin 01-28-2008, 21:06 Thinking about a 35. Steve Koski 01-28-2008, 23:36 Thinking about a 35. I'm thinking about a second... Eddie C. 01-30-2008, 21:23 Well I'm back in the .40 market. I had a Sig P229 for a few years and my brother talked me out of it. I recently picked up a Beretta Cougar. I like the way it feels and points. I won't get out to shoot it for awhile because the wife has big health issues and there aren't a lot of places around here to shoot. Anyone hear about the Cougar and the .40? I've heard they are pretty nice... Bert.40 01-31-2008, 07:58 I like the looks of the Berreta and the fit in hand. It also appears less expensive then the Sig. These gun companies are sure taking advantage with the swing of the economy. Contrived or not the price of everything is increasing, just need to set priorities on spending. I think the need or want of a 10 mm is gone by the wayside, even with it using the same bullet as the .40 the price of brass is a deciding factor. Most of my friends, which isn't many, are reloading the .40 more then the .45 because of the expense. Retired Squid 02-02-2008, 15:00 I've always thought about picking up a 10mm pistol. It's not a caliber which is important enough to me to settle for a pistol other than what I'd prefer to own and use, though. Well you could buy a 10mm Short, aka 40S&W or buy 10mm in a CZ Clone (Tanfoglio Witness) and have a very nice inexpensive 10mm or look around for a nice used 10xx S&W for sale. If it has to be a metal frame S&W has the 610 back in production in 4" & 6.5" barrel revolvers. Just think about the fun I am going to have with my new wheel gun and some fine hand loads I cook up. Bet I could push a 155 WW JHPST to 1650fps + with out straining the N frame (large) revolver with ease. Maybe do it with a 180 Hornady XTP HP, talk about a hog stopper. Buckaroo 02-05-2008, 13:19 I picked up a M&P 40C and really like it! So much so that I have my G27 SPF... I simply shoot the M&P better than the Glock. I thought about going to a G23 but the grip on the M&P is just plain better. Now to order my holster and start the dreaded wait! Buckaroo Aquanewt 02-05-2008, 19:24 If I retire I may pick up a Glock M-23 ( I carry a M-22 as a duty gun and have a M-27 from when I was a Detective but I like the bigger grip of the M-23 over the M-27) SergeantC 02-10-2008, 21:14 I'd like to pick up a SiG 229 this year. The time is right for another .40, and I want to have at least one SiG. This way, I can meet two goals with one purchase. TLHelmer 02-16-2008, 07:27 Woohoo! I just traded for a Sig 229R! I have a 229 again. "Happy Dance" Bert.40 02-16-2008, 11:03 The happy dance is forcing me to buy a Sig!! :devildance::cheers: Tack 02-17-2008, 12:46 Just bought this Friday. Just have to pick up a 22, 27, and a 24 and I will have all the .40s. I do miss my 36 though... might have to pick up another one of those again. http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff69/KD8HDS/DSC01126.jpg Steve Koski 02-17-2008, 17:07 Yeah baby, yeah! SDGlock23 02-18-2008, 13:09 Tack, congrats on the 35!!! The 35 is an awesome piece. I have an OD green version. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a289/sdmf69/160_6029.jpg Retired Squid 02-18-2008, 14:15 Good looking gun SDGlock, but it's still a plastic gun. :tongueout: Before you get your skivies in a bind, I may buy a 29 to replace my CS45 for car gun. The 29 will fit in my center consul like my CS45, and I hand load for 10mm and not 45ACP. So the 29 is on a short list unless S&W comes out with 10mm M&P compact before I buy, but we know those odds. :dunno: But then S&W brought back the 10mm revolver, so who knows. :faint: USP45T 02-22-2008, 00:28 G22 & G35 don't come out of the safe much anymore. don't really shoot much anymore. G35 is my night time go-to gun with a glock light and plenty of ready mags loaded with Cabela's Win Ranger 155JHP ($11.99) that I bought last fall and still haven't even function tested. Daily is my 7yr old USP 40 compact with GDHP. Poohgyrr 03-02-2008, 04:58 I need to pickup another 23 to replace the one my sister borrowed and hasn't brought back... :whistling: And: MORE AMMO!!!! pliskin 03-04-2008, 22:39 The call of the 35 is getting stronger.:smoking: Tack 03-06-2008, 06:19 The call of the 35 is getting stronger.:smoking: Do NOT deny yourself the pleasure. The 34/35s are the best shooters I have found so far. I am going to look for a G27 OD next myself. I have found 0 OD models locally, so looks like I will probably be ordering one from topglock.com hardonem 05-06-2008, 14:19 My addiction began with the #22. Curse you. http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1260/583423821_59e7dad0bb_b.jpg exprt9 05-10-2008, 21:05 Anyone hear about the Cougar and the .40? I've heard they are pretty nice... I used to own a Beretta 8040 Cougar but I traded it (silly me!) and am still kicking myself in the rear for getting rid of it. :crying: The only reason why I traded it was for CCW. I needed another 40 s&w gun that's considerably smaller, lighter and would hold the same amount of rounds like the Cougar. Beretta has discontinued making the Cougar but I'm still looking for a used one with a decent price. TLHelmer 05-18-2008, 06:46 The .40S&W forum is on a roll! Retired Squid 05-18-2008, 07:32 Well I have my G29 now, no 10mm shorts for me. :tongueout: Let me tell you it is hell on bowling pins at 25 yards. :perfect10: Remember 380 is 9mm short & 40S&W is 10mm short. Hey in a pinch you can shoot 40S&W in a 10mm  :wavey: gmaster 05-19-2008, 20:12 question.. i "was" in the .40 S&W club i thought.. way back when i was #39 did it change over the years? i still have my orig sig from way back when.. vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
