View Full Version : How common are the OD Green Glocks?

I really want to pick up an OD green G26, but none of the gun shops around here say they ever get in the OD green models. I would rather buy in person than deal with an internet shipping deal.
Do you guys ever see the green ones in you local shops, and where??
Got my G17 OD from Philomath gun shop

I called Glock to see if they have plans for an OD G21SF and the answer was no. The reason givin was that the OD glock are not very popular. So I got the all Black G21SF and will get a G34 soon in OD.

They have a OD Green Glock 26 at a gun shop in Springdale, Arkansas. As of today at 3pm when I was there.
Very nice looking, IMHO.

Well I will be honest I'm not 100% sure on remembering the price but I think $510, again IIRC.
I can PM you the name of the place and their phone# if you want it. They are open Monday-Saturday.

If I were you I would reconsider the internet thing. My local gun shop (Sportsmans Warehouse) said they "Just couldn't get them" when I asked about an OD G38. I looked online at gunbroker.com and found one for ~$530.00+$20.00 for shipping= $550.00. Take that and add the FFL transfer fee for a local gun shop of around $15 and you have a new G38 for $565.00. That's better than the $530.00x1.0825(Sales Tax)=$574. It actually comes out cheaper to order mine offline.

That's the thing though. I have a local gun broker that has new g26 for $499, they just dont have OD. This is the same place that I picked up my g38 last year for $449

I waited 5 months to get mine once I ordered it. Blue label also but they still only come with 2 mags. From what I'm reading here that would make it even mor rare but not worth anymore. Now that's got me wonering how many OD blue label Glocks are floating around? Here's a picture. Maybe that will hold you over for a while.

I think I spotted a Glock OD green the same day I sighted an Ivory Billed Woodpecker.
They're out there; you just have to be quiet and patient and sooner or later one will come by.

I think you've taken the best Glock photo yet. Wonderful backdop with the Glock schematic, and of course the beautiful OD green model with white highlight steals the show.
Bravo!
The OD Glocks aren't as popular so a lot of gun shops don't carry them. I couldn't find an OD G17 or even get one ordered, so I ordered it online and had it in a day.
Edit:
Had to.

yeah, if you want OD have the dealer order one for you. you'll have to wait a little bit but it shouldn't be too big of a deal.

When i tried that nobody would order it for me, when I finally got a gun shop that would order one for me, they told me it would take 8 months to get in. That night I got online and had the gun the next day.

My dealer in Kentucky said she had to order an OD G19 since their distributer didn't have any black 19s in stock!! So, she has a OD G19 in stock.
It looks nice, but I don't want to buy it since then I will need to get another type of magazine, and I got to pick up my 17c (second Glock after my 21SF I got 2 weeks ago) and get mags for that too, and more for my 21SF.
I don't know why I like these Glocks so much. I'm thinking about selling a SIG P229 Elite in 357 for some cash to fund more Glock stuff.

I bought my OD G27 December 26, 2007 and at that time they had a OD G23, G19, G26 and my G27. I was there a couple days ago and they still had the G19 and G23. I am thinking of going after church and help ease there burden and take the G19 home with me.
I just picked up a G26 and my dealer told me all he could get was OD. No one around had black! OK with me, I wanted the green.
They're real common in my household.
2 outta 2.(19 and 20)
There are a few floating around Pensacola and NW Fla.
(Carefull, there is a dealer that represents himself as a "authorized" Mil/LEO dealer, that is not. He chargers more than the Mil/LEO discounted price)
I would own nothing but OD.

You're in Oregon, call over to Keith's Sporting Goods in Gresham and see if he's got some greens. He's got a large Glock selection and is worth the trip if he's got them, I bought my OD G19 from him. He's generally got a presence at the Portland Gun Show which is sometime this month, not sure if it passed yet, check Collectors West or the Rose City Gun Show schedules online. It's the biggest show in Oregon and if Keith's doesn't have it you will likely find one at another dealer's table. There is even a Lone Wolf dealer at the show if you need spare parts, mods, etc. and plenty of guys selling magazines throughout.

Thanks!! I've been meaning to take another just like it, but without the trash on the mat below the trigger guard, and without the ground showing above the top of the mat. I took it in natural light with my wife's Canon Digital Rebel XT set on auto. The camera did all the work! I've yet to take a bad picture with it.

FALSE! If you look on the CA approved firearm list, OD pistols are on there and therefor totally legal in CA.

I picked up a OD G26 yesterday. It's my first Glock, probably not my last either, but I honestly thought it was a olive drab! I put it next to some Magpul Pmags I have, olive drab, and they are almost identical. Either way I prefer the tan over the green any day.

Well.....I just bought two OD Glocks about an hour ago.
A G26 and a G22. Got them on an internet deal for $459 plus $19.95 shipping, so basically both for $479 each.
I have had a G23 for about six years and just love it. It's the standard black and when I saw the OD glocks come out, I really took a liking to them. I helped my sister-in-law find an OD G23 for my brother for a Christmas gift a few years back and ever since I saw his in person, I just have had the desire to have an OD of my own.
My friend and I couldn't fight the bug any longer so we went shopping for some new Glocks (his first). He picked out the 22 and it was the 26 for me. My wife had secret plans on getting me an OD for my 40th b-day this spring so she shared the fact that she had some info. on this deal eventually ended up with. I followed up on it and ended up buying the new OD 26 for myself and 22 for my friend.
It'll be a few days until they arrive and we get over to get them transferred and pick them up, but I'm really excited to finally see my new OD 26 and especially shoot it.
I couldn't decide between the 26, 27 or the 30. I shot my brother's 27 he uses for backup/undercover work and I didn't like it. It was nothing compared to my 23 and it was way too snappy for me. I decided against the 30 b/c though I LOVE a .45, I'm a 1911 man at heart and always will be. Plus the 30 is a little thick for my tastes.
I've never had the chance to shoot the 26 but did handle one several times to get a feel for it. I've been worried it'll be too small for my liking, but I'm hoping that with a mag extension it'll be just right. I have heard tons of great things about the 26 and that coupled with my desire to have an ultra concealable handgun pretty much sold me on it being my next Glock.
Hopefully soon, I'll be looking to add a full size to the collection. I handled the G22 when my friend was looking at them and that is a really nice feeling handgun. That very well may be my next Glock. Of course I'll have to give the other full size models a fair shake, but I fell in love with that G22 without even shooting it. I'm looking forward to shooting my friend's new one as I'm sure we'll be trading the 26 and 22 at the range to see what the other's is like.
It's been a good day. Another Glock in the collection for under $500. It doesn't get much better than that.

Typical small man syndrome... I'm a ARMY vet and soon to be college grad who seems to know what joking versus arguing is. You don't! If it wasn't obvious by my over the top donut analogy than you will never grasp that concept. Making fun of handicapped people to make a rather juvenile and lame argument/point is very unappreciative and very disappointing to see come from a man in a community held position of authority. My point was very simple and clear its rude and lame to troll and make contradicting comments on a thread that is about people liking something.

The Austrian Police ;). Its common here to work more than 12 hours per shift. We have one guy who works 60 hours at the moment!. Offcourse he is allowed to sleep a couple of hours from time to time, but not enough to compensate this

That's OK. I can wait. I'm patient...... Yea, I don't buy that either.
Nice pics of the ODs people. I just traded a Kahr P9 for a OD 19. (Glock #4!!!)I've been looking for an OD for awhile, but as stated previously in this thread, the ODs are hard to come by. At first, I thought they were butt ugly, but then again all Glocks are butt ugly. Perfection has it's price!

Well I finally got my first OD glock last weekend, a G26.
I love it. Now I'm considering trading my G38 for an OD G19 to keep with the theme. The gun show is this weekend, we'll have to see what they have.
Here's a couple pics...

I am hoping to get my OD 19 sometime this week.
A friend of mine just sent me an e-mail with a pic of an OD glock. Engraved on the ring at the end of the barrel was: Smile Wait For Flash !!!
I originally wasn't a big fan of the OD, but after looking at some of these pics, I am having second thoughts.
Wellarmedsheep, that is an awesome photo!

Some like them, some don't. I love mine. My gun dealer did not have a 26 OD in stock, so he checked around. It took him 4 days to find one in another state which he said was a bit unusual.
If OD Glocks aren't selling, just wait about ten years when there not making them anymore and see how hard it is to find one, not to mention the collectors value.

Nice Robo!!!
My first G35, I had to order it through GSSF and took 4 months to get here. Despite the long wait, I did save over $100 if I were to buy locally. My second G23 came the next day from my local dealer, but paid full price. I have my eye on either a G22 or G27...in OD Green of course.

I went to the Rose City gun and knife show today and to my surprise, of the thousands of handguns for sale at the show there was but one OD green glock there. It was a G30.
I was ready to buy another G26 or a G19 if I had seen one for sale in OD, but I didn't.

Yes they are. Very much so.
If you get one and try it IWB you will never carry any other Glock that way again though. You will be spoiled and your other mini Glocks will have to be carried OTB.
Ctkurt. I have a G30 that I love. My shooting buddy has an OD 36 that I tried to trade him out of the other day and he declined. I put it in my Royal Gaurd holster that carry my G30 in, and it felt sooooo good. Like I said, I loves my G30, but I feel the need for a 36. of course this all depends on how the 30SF feels.
OK.
Well I blew the OD G36 deal....and ordered an OD G17 today!
I have 3 .45ACP's already (not that you can ever have too many!) and figured I'd make a change and save some money on ammo to boot!

I'm not a huge fan of OD but those pics of the subs look sweet! I think I need to pick up an od 26 to go with my nickel 19. Wait, then I would NEED another black Glock so a 17 it is. Jeez, I just talked myself into two new Glocks. When will this addiction end?
Partially due to me not wanting the standard black / black, and partially due to some of the nice looking pictures in this thread, I just bought an OD G26 from Bud's for $470 + shipping. Hopefully I'll get it to my local FFL next week.

I've heard in the gun magazines that the name of the gun (Like "the Judge" or "Cobra") can be a liability in court in a worst case scenario. Does color apply also? Does any think the OD could be a liablity because of not being as politically correct? Could the prosecutor could make the OD gun owner sound like a tacticool mall ninja? I personally like the look of the OD glocks, just wondering what you thought about PCness

On the contrary, I'd say that OD guns are less "tactical looking." (or "tacticool" as people say these days.)

I've had the od bug for over a year and never have managed to save up to get one or the dealers never have them in stock. I was gonna get an od 34 last year but the wait was 4 months+ so I just got the black. Well, today my local store got a od 19 returned from a sale to a woman last year. She could barely pull the slide back so she returned it a year later and only 1 box of shells through it for a walther p22. It was dated 04, but was in pristine condition with the copper lube still smeared all over the internals  with a small amount of powder inside around the feed ramp.Needless to say, I absolutely couldnt resist and traded my 34:crying: for it. As much as I loved my 34, I have no regrets, as this is the sexiest damn glock I've ever owned. I seem to always come full circle back to the 19 for some reason. I love OD!!!

Your pictures look excellent so far! I only wish the slide, barrel and magazines were also in OD. Maybe Glock will do that in the future.
Do your OD Green Glocks have the same constant OD color or are there variations in the color like there are in Steyr AUG stocks and parts?
Some of your pictures seem to match the AUG rifle below:

Yea Baby! Very cool. Lets keep that OD flowing here. Man I love this stuff!

I just checked 2 distributors, Acusport and Sports South and both have OD green 26's in stock. Any shop could place an order monday and the pistol should arrive at their shop by friday. If they say it could take weeks or months to get their full of it. By the way, I just received a new 19 and both mags had the ambi cut on them. Hmmm, maybe ambi mag releases on all guns soon?
Gah. I won't be able to get my OD 26 until the week after next, even though I ordered it last week.
My local gunshop is doing a major inventory and cleaning project and won't be open again until the 6th.
Then I'll have to still wait the three days even after I sign the paperwork. Hmm, maybe I can get it on Saturday...

Order from the 1,000+ feedback major dealers on there, and you shouldn't have any problems.
Obviously, if you can get something at your local shop first, that's the way to do it, so you don't have to pay shipping and a transfer fee.

For those interested, there's a seller over at SIGforum selling Glock's (O/D and Black) at very competitive prices. S&H is 15 dollars, and I don't think there's a surcharge for credit cards. The guy does lot's of business there and is well regarded and trusted.
This is his 'January' offerings:

Hey wellarmedsheep.
I like the grip tape. Thinking of going with it,and not suing my Hoague. It seems to be less bulkier.
Wondering if the tape is rough enough to cause a problem rubbing against skin?
Also, have you had it on long? Is it going to peel up on the edges?
I like the look of your pistols. Thanks for posting a pic.
I really want to pick up an OD green G26, but none of the gun shops around here say they ever get in the OD green models. I would rather buy in person than deal with an internet shipping deal.
Do you guys ever see the green ones in you local shops, and where??
They (all guns) just don't show up at shops...The dealer has to ORDER them..Do you see where this is going? However, they don't sell very well, so he may not have wanted any...

I love the grip tape on my IDPA gun (the G17 in the pic). My G19 feels like it's covered with gorilla snot in comparison. However, the grip tape is VERY abrasive, and I wouldn't think it'd be very comfortable on a carry gun, so I'm not gonna put it on my 19 (which gets carried IWB under a t-shirt most of the time...against bare skin). I've had the tape on my 17 for several months now. After doing a search for this (http://glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=789849&highlight=grip+tape) thread, I see that I put it on at the beginning of December, and it's held up very well. I used the 3M traction material, which is superior to skateboard tape, IMO, because it doesn't have grit that can rub off.
