View Full Version : Converting a G27 into a G33
I have a G27 (love it) but am thinking of getting a G33 barrel to add to its versatility. Since the .40S&W and .357SIG share the same cartridge size, do you think it's safe to use G27 mags? I know I'd have to "mark" them to avoid mixing up ammo, but other than that, are there any differences in the mags. I already have 4 mags for my G27 and was just thinking of converting one for use with the .357 ammo.
I haven't bought a 357 sig barrel for my 27. I would just try it to see how reliable the mags are. Other wise buy 2 new followers for the sig mags and have 2 of each.
I haven't done that to my 27 yet, but I did get a .40 barrel for my 31. I've used .40 & 357 mags for both calibers. Both of the 10-round mags seem to work fine for the other caliber.
The only problem I had was with 357 rounds nose-diving in a pair of NFML .40 pre-ban mags... that worked fine with .40. A set of Wolff springs fixed that though. I don't know that it would have been a problem with a newer set of followers though.
Yes, it is ok to load the .357SIG ammo in your G27 mag. The G27 and G33 mags are interchangeable.
Yup..same mag. I blew some money on .357s before I found this out.
