View Full Version : Lubing internals
I lube exactly where Glock states after doing a field strip cleaning. What about after a detailed strip and cleaning? Do I need to lube the striker, firing pin safety, etc..? I noticed today after doing a detail that the extractor had really light surface rust. Should I be concerned? ;d

You don't want to put any oil anywhere near the striker channel, which would include the extractor and striker safety.

I use tetra gun cleaner spray in the striker channel...is this ok? It says that it lightly lubricates. ;4

Lube in the striker channel of any kind is a big no-no. Unburned powder and other fouling will stick to the lube and cake up the firing pin and channel. This will lead to light primer strikes and misfires.

Ditto, what mikeyglock said. I clean the striker channel with alcohol or brake cleaner...something that dries completely and leaves no residue. No solvent or oil or lubricant of any kind in the striker channel!
