Nice cameo of my hands scoring the targets!
Very cool! Do you volunter? Where is the range?
I went to Chantilly (class of 91) and never heard about Ffx rifle teams. Very cool.

At one time just about every Fairfax County high school had a rifle team. They even had rifle ranges in the basements.
That video was shot on the NRA range (at 0600). We also use Blue Ridge and the Landon school in MD has a range where we shoot a lot of matches.
Robinson, Woodson, Lake Braddock, and West Potomac have teams in Fairfax County. In Arlington County Washington-Lee and Yorktown have rifle teams. St. Johns private school in DC has a team as does the Landon school in Md.
I believe that Chantilly HS has a JROTC program that shoots air rifles, but they don't compete in the High School League.
I coach the Mavericks, they are sponsored by the Quantico rod and gun club and are a pick up team for any high school kid that wants to shoot but their school doesn't have a team. We're a non-conference team so we can't win team championships, but the kids can win individual awards.
And yes I volunteer.
vafish,
Thanks for the info. Very cool indeed.

One of my best friends started the rifle club at Lake Braddock last year (I graduated last year...now I'm full time at GMU in Fairfax)
I helped out with a lot of the stuff getting it started but I never really had the interest to join...mainly because I had been shooting the "real" guns for so many years with my family, that switching to an air rifle didn't seem of interest :dunno:

Then I probably know them.
I'm friends with the Lake Braddock coach and my daughter shoots on a smallbore team with her son.

Probably. I also met the Robinson coach when he came to Lake Braddock for the first interest meeting.
