Anyone have any experience with any of these lights? Which has the nicest looking beam? The Glock incandescent bulb leaves this ringy kinda blobby looking beam. Anyone got beam shots?

View Full Version : Rail mounted tac light... Glock, Surefire, Streamlight? Beam shots? bimmerboy 01-14-2008, 19:48 Anyone have any experience with any of these lights? DennisP 01-14-2008, 20:12 For the money, GLOCK's tac light is the way to go. I bought was as a toy, because I have no real use for one but I like it. Figure out how much you will use it before you spend big bucks on a light. Good Luck Dennis P. WyldeDime 01-14-2008, 20:34 Don't have a beam shot but here is a on gun shot. http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd63/WyldeDime1/glock22006.jpg Jerkdog 01-14-2008, 20:54 Here's a couple of pics of my G19 with the Streamlight TLR-1. The Glock light just looked too clunky IMHO. You'll also see the CTC laser, which was worth every penny BTW (but that's another post). I'll snap some pics of the beam later tonite (after the wife goes to bed, otherwise she'll wonder why I'm walking around the house with my Glock). Orkinman 01-14-2008, 22:14 I dunno. I like the look of the Glock light because it's same finish and has the same styling as the Glock. It looks like it belongs. Wylde Dime, in your picture it looks like there are two parts, a mount and the light. Does it have some kind of a quick disconnect so it can be holstered without the light? Is there a holster that allows for tactical lights? Ian 01-15-2008, 14:46 I agree. the Glock Light does look like it belongs. I didn't like the TLR-1. It is metal! It needs to be screwed on (the Glock Light just easily clips on and off), and the damn thing came on in a fanny pack, something the Glock Lights have never done. Haven't tried the Surefire yet. WyldeDime 01-15-2008, 14:57 I dunno. I like the look of the Glock light because it's same finish and has the same styling as the Glock. It looks like it belongs. Is there a holster that allows for tactical lights? It is all one piece but it does come off quick...like 1 second quick. There are two levers toward the muzzle, you push them down and the light slides right off. RayB 01-15-2008, 19:27 SureFire X200s A & B... Both are excellent with extreme quality throughout! --Ray Jerkdog 01-15-2008, 21:12 Here's a couple of pics of my G19 with the Streamlight TLR-1. The Glock light just looked too clunky IMHO. I'll snap some pics of the beam later tonite (after the wife goes to bed, otherwise she'll wonder why I'm walking around the house with my Glock). For me, the price was right and it's only mounted on the G19 when it's "resting" in the bedside table (she comes off for carry). Anyway, here's some pics of the beam from about 20 feet (from the hallway to the front door and garage door). For comparison I've attached a pic of the beam from the Leatherman Monarch 500 I got for Christmas from my sister in law (pleasantly surprised with the performance). 145 lumens for the Leatherman and 80 for the TLR-1, if you're interested. RayB 01-16-2008, 01:57 Also on a G19, here's a SureFire X200B, which essentially lights an entire room... The second pic is of the X200B and LaserMax... With a 33-round magazine, that G19 of Judy's sure pins down that corner! Gotta love the green machine--Judy's G19! --Ray catsbackr 01-16-2008, 10:06 Here's a couple of pics of my G19 with the Streamlight TLR-1. That Streamlight looks like you've attached a wrench or something to your G19. 1baddmax 01-16-2008, 17:06 I'm stuck oh whether to get the new Streamlight tlr1 or Surefire x300. imaguy3 01-16-2008, 17:15 I just got the x300 a few weeks ago.... I love it, 2 1/2 hours worth of battery time, plus 110 lumens..... I'll try to take a pic. tonight if my camera won't suck... Whiskey Six 01-16-2008, 20:23 I think the Glock light is the ugliest thing on a Glock that I have ever seen.:crying: IMNSHO only. RayB 01-17-2008, 01:16 I think the Glock light is the ugliest thing on a Glock that I have ever seen.:crying: IMNSHO only. :agree: Looks like a pencil sharpener, doesn't it? --Ray bimmerboy 01-18-2008, 22:12 Don't like the Streamlight on the gun. The Surefire looks very nice and the beam has that Surefire quality to it. But to me... it just seems the Glock light belongs. Fugly light for a ugly gun? Ian 01-19-2008, 08:25 I think that the Glock light looks beautiful on the Glocks. They are so simple to attach and use, are very lightweight, and have the same design as the Glocks. I remember everyone saying that Glocks were the ugliest thing too, when they first came on the market. bimmerboy 01-19-2008, 16:47 Just stumbled accross one made by Blackhawk... http://www.blackhawk.com/product1.asp?P=75204BK&C=C1784 762minigun 02-13-2008, 13:23 Just stumbled accross one made by Blackhawk... http://www.blackhawk.com/product1.asp?P=75204BK&C=C1784 I have never seen one in person, but I don't like the looks of the way it attaches. It just looks flimsey. bicolano_glockr 02-16-2008, 06:01 go for the surefire x200 or better yet, the new x300. it has better specs than the previous x200 series. here's my x200a attached on my trusty g19 http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s13/victornacion1212/MyG19.jpg Ian 02-16-2008, 10:13 How does it attach? Does it just click on like the Glocklight? clipper100 02-16-2008, 15:35 Fired 50 rounds with the Surefire X300 (Glock 21sf pic) Perfect-ooooo! How can you beat 110 lumens of quality? Worth every penny when your family's lives are at stake. lkwan@houston.r 02-18-2008, 08:15 x300 and i love it... no my wife's room didn't ransacked... She doesn't ever have time to clean. vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
