View Full Version : 357sig and 40 S&W mags
are 357sig and 40 S&W mags interchangeable ?
i have a g22 and was thinking about picking up a g31
can i use my g22 mags in the g31 ?
thanks
Hey dude I believe you can , but it wouldn't hurt to check with the manufacturer.;d
yes you can. The G22 10rds fits nicely into a G31. the hi-caps even works very good also.
stg58,
I'm in the same boat. I recently bought a G22 and want to fire 357SIG through it also. Unless you want to purchase a new Glock, just get a replacement barrel. According to all of the forums I've read on GT, as long as you have a 3rd generation G22 all you have to do is replace the barrel with a G31 barrel to convert it to 357SIG. As I understand it, the 3rd generation G22 will have the finger grooves on the grip and an accesory rail on the front of the frame. A new factory G31 barrel is only $140 at Glockmeister; I will probably order one this week.
Another question to more experienced Glockers. Is it recommended to replace the guide rod and recoil spring when converting a G22 .40 to shoot 357SIG? I've read many conflicting opinions on this matter, just wondering what some of your experiences are.

Thanks for the info. a new barrel sounds like the way to go. My G22 is ported but the sig can be had w/ ports
I have a G31 and also have a .40 barrel for it.
I've had zero problems with either 10-round mags, using the other caliber ammo.
My old NFML pre-ban .40 mags, with old followers, would nose-dive the 357 ammo. I ordered the Wolff springs from Brownells and the problem seems to be fixed. Maybe the old springs were weak, but they worked fine w/.40 -- just not 357.

Yes, but not 100% need. I had a g23 w/ISMI 20 or 22lb spring for both 357sig & 40s&w. th egun function nicely with stock spring and 357sig. I did the stainless steel rod and spring primarly for the elimination of frame battery.

I swap mags for my G27 without problems...........
Only problem is that I can't fit .44 mag rounds into the mags.
