At the Waldorf match, my brother shot some video of me shooting plates. It's a quicktime video, and the size is a shade over 1.4 meg. If you want to take a look at it, go to my website( http://www.geocities.com/guntotingliberals )and then click on "Michael on Plates at GSSF, Waldorf, MD 2002." under "New Content." (geocities doesn't allow direct links to files, sorry.)

Not a PERFECT run, but 3.76 seconds is not bad :)

If you tried to look at the video, let me know if you were successful or not. Thanks.

I got a PM that someone was having trouble with the video. I tested it from my computer, and it worked fine, so I'm not sure what the problem could be, but if you have problems try this:

Try going to my website www.geocities.com/guntotingliberals and then click on "Michael on Plates at GSSF, Waldorf, MD 2002." under "New Content."

You might also try right clicking the link (either one) and selecting "save link as..." this will put a copy of the movie on your computer, and you can play if from there (with better quality).

Let me know what happens.

Take Care,

Kyf

I get a "This Page Is Not Available" from Yahoo.
Tried twice.

Yup, geocities doesn't like it when you make a direct link to a file. You'll have to go to the website first, then follow the link from there. Sorry about that.

It is in .mov format... isn't that a *shudder* Mac thing?

WMP won't play it and I can't install the Quicktime viewer in this NT PC, it causes mucho errors in my setup (Work) I get sound and no video.

I'll have to try it from home where my system is more forgiving :)

I have the same problem. If I go direct to the page it shows not available. If I go to GTL and then the page I get the sound but no picture. Sounds good, bet it looks even better.

Yes, it's .mov, which is Quicktime, and native to Mac. That's the format the camera uses, and I don't have the software to change it to .avi or .wmv or some other PC format. The Quicktime plug-in is working on my browser (Netscape, if that helps). I'll try to fiddle with it, but for now, that's the best I can do.

I can hear the shot but not see the video. Thats a pity.

I read your guides. They are very well done and very informative. Are you sure you are a Liberal? Your writting indicates a person of above average to high intelligence. :)

Michael,

Very cool... I had no problem viewing that excellent run on plates with my APPLE-Less system. Perhaps you fixed the problems the others were having?

BTW, those plates look like they were at 22 yards... did they have a special plate setup for you? ;f ;f

Excellent run, are you right handed? If so why shoot left to right? The common feeling is right to left for righties.

Nice job Mike!!! What happened to the second plate from the left? It is hidden behind the post of the canopy, and I couldn't make out any movement from it.

Nevermind, after another closer inspection of the video, I can just see the edge of the plate to the right of the pole. The little white ball on the canopy rope has the plate obscured.

I'm right handed and have always shot plates left to right. It feels natural since that's how I read. Any other righties shoot the other way?

By the way, nice run on the plates!

I shoot right to left on the other stages but on the plates it just doesn't feel right.

Right to left has always brought me some pretty good runs.;f

TJC is the Grand Master of Understatement. I have some of those Topton, PA runs on video tape. TOTAL time for all four runs, 9.19 seconds. That averages out to 0.38 seconds per plate.;)
