I bought a brand new P7 last week at the local gun show. It has a shell collection date of October of 2007. The serial number has AH stamped on it. The dealer said that HK keeps changing their minds on whether or not they will stop or keep producing them. Can anyone on here confirm any of this info? Regardless, I am very happy with this pistol.

HK has discontinued the production of the P7-series of pistols. Several releases of "last editions" (Jubilees and the final 500) have been brought into the US in recent years.

The high cost of production and corresponding sales price generating low demand sealed the fate of the P7 series.

A few of us in the firearms community will always cherish being a member of "The Cult" of the P7 -- and there will remain P7-series pistols on the market for resale. Recently, many european police trade-in P7 PSPs have been imported at quite reasonable prices -- providing an opportunity for long-time fans to finally realize ownership of the finest 9mm handgun on the market.

Congratulations on your new P7. I thought the normal production of them was finished, but would be produced on a "special" run every now and again. Either way, be happy, you just picked up one of the finest 9mm out there. I always laughed @ the folks that complain about the cost of a P7, as compared to a Glock or Sig, , but would dump 2k on a 1911. IF you need some mags do a search over to HKPRO for "M.L Security Products" he is a stand up guy and usually has fair prices on "in stock" mags.

Went to the gunshow tonight and picked up a grade B PSP. I am going to carry this one and not worry about it getting beat up! The other one will be my safe queen!

Another cultist says "welcome". I used to laugh at the guys who thought they needed more than one (until I bought my second one). - Lee

Precisely what you said..

Two pistols I have "lusted" after for years, but never thought I'd be able to afford, are the Seecamps and the HKP7M8. (I'd never even heard of the PSP).

This past year I have been fortunate in acquiring a Seecamp LWS32, (3 actually) which has turned out to be a fantastically high quality "mousegun", and now thanks to this PSP release I've been able to buy one of those, (and I hope to buy another shortly).

It has been a pleasant experience to find the Seecamp LWS32 is all I have heard it would be, and the same with the PSP.

Being a lefty I'm probably better off with a heel mag release anyway, and I'm perfectly satisfied with my CDNN "A" grade PSP..

I've owned many firearms in my over 50 years of firearms ownership, but I don't think I've ever been any more satisfied with any of them than I am my Seecamps and now my HK P7 PSP..:faint:

I should think my LWS32 in a rear pocket (wallet) holster and my PSP in a FIST Kydex iwb holster would make for a very satisfactory self defense cc duo.

I'm still amazed, and happy, that the HK P7 PSP is all it was advertised to be.

So I was at the shop the other day when the guy behind the counter says that he is getting in a P7 for the shop, and I stop by the store today to check it out...

Well, he hadn't even taken the P7 out of the UPS box today until I showed up. So when he found it, he told me to give him a few hours to price everything and this will be my THIRD P7 in three months!!!!

It is in grade B condition, so again, I will not have to worry about getting this gun banged up. I am thinking about getting one of the used ones refinshed in Rogard and maybe something from WickedGrips to top it off. What do you all think?

It worked fine, but that was my second try to like USPs. I have since come to the conclusion that while they are decent guns, they are not for me.

Fair prices????? I'd hate to see your definition of UNfair.

I bought four M8 magazines from M.L. Securities at $58 per about a month ago, right after I ordered the pistol. The phone call was laced with smooth superlatives and all sorts of "insider knowledge"; the dude is a salesman. Made me HAPPY to pay that much.

Then I find out that Bud's has M8 magazines for eighteen bucks less; and these are new-in-the-plastic OEM HK mags, just like those from M.L. Securities. Of course, it was too late to cancel my order with M.L. Securities.

Fair prices, my ass...

Last week, I spoke with two people at Trussvile (Alabama, where HK/USA is now) regarding the missing scraper from my new P7M8; of which I am the original purchaser.

Both of these guys told me the same thing; this time, for real, there will be no more P7s produced, because the tooling has worn out and they will not replace it due to the horrendous cost. What parts remain will be used to service existing pistols.

Take that for what it is worth, but it least it came from a credible source...

BTW, mine too was test-fired 10/15/07. The last three of my serial # is 997. What's yours? There is a thread on PTC about who has the "last one"....:D

LSP972,

I'll let you know about the serial number when I get some free time to dig into my safe. By the way, I purchased M8 mags from my dealer in new condition for $58 a piece too. The PSP mags from CDNN were $40 a piece used. I could care less what the mags look like as long as they work.
