How many USPc .45's are out there in the US?

I get the distinct impression that not many H&K USPc's were sold in .45 caliber.

Many places that sell H&K magazines do not sell this particular one.

And when they do, there is only the H&K factory brand (no after market brands) and the price is around $50 each. I know . . . it's an H&K, so it has to cost more. But I don't see anything really extra special about these, as compared to other brand magazines.

And of course, this gun does not accept mags designed for any other model.

It's a bit frustrating to me.

I don't understand why somebody does not offer a slightly less expensive after market magazine for this gun. I believe they could sell lots of them.

Like the gun; hate the scarcity (and price) of the magazines.

I was at a gun show this past weekend.

I lingered at a table with a bazillion magazines.

The guy asked, "What 'cha lookin' for?"

Me: "Well, I was looking for some H&K USP compact .45 magazines. You got any?"

Him: "Nah. Several guys have asked me the same thing. But if I had any they would be over $60."

Me: "Wow. I know they are high, but usually around $50. I can order them off the internet for around $40 but I would be willing to pay more face to face."

Him: "Then why are you bothering me? Those guys on the internet who advertise them for $40 never have any in stock."

The guy was an idiot. He felt bothered by a customer willing to pay his price, but he had none in stock. Yet he criticizes internet dealers for not having them in stock.

Greetings NRA guy,

I have seen serial numbers up into the 34,000 range for the USP .45c. Not sure if ALL of them are in the United States though.

How well does that suppressor work? That is carbon fiber, right?

No, this suppressor is metal -- although a carbon fiber model is available.

The CT and my fullsize USP Tactical both function flawlessly with the can installed. Great reduction in sound and no cycling issues at all. The B&T design is also "HK warranty-friendly"...

I have an even dozen magazines for mine; two with the elusive (in .45 caliber, anyway) flat floorplates for concealed carry. Loudcherokee has one; treasure it.

I have almost as much invested in those magazines as my bride paid for the pistol. Mine is one of the last LEM-equipped models that were made for the FAM evaluation, and that CDNN ended up with and blew out for $599 + shipping.

NRA_guy, welcome to the world of HK. Not to sound snobbish (for I certainly am not a wealthy man), but owning an HK anything is like that famous yacht; if you have to ask (or gripe about) how much it costs, then you shouldn't be contemplating one.

I am really amused by all of the bashing posts one sees, although those guys haven't found this thread yet. These primarily deal with the high cost/sparse availability of HK firearms and accoutrements, and almost ALL are written by folks who have never owned one. They suffer from either envy or ignorance. I know, because I was once a nay-sayer. My "sin" was ignorance; I had no idea of the aura surrounding these guns, and would have never bought one. Then, my wife surprised me with this one.

Of the 20+ firearms I currently own, this USPc would be the second-to-last one I'd sell if it came down to that. I can't use mine for the time being, because my employer doesn't recognize HK as an authorized weapon. But when I leave this job and go back to living on my pension from where I retired out of, the USPc will go back to being my main tote-around piece.

I can hear a few HK-haters snickering at my words "the aura surrounding these guns"... and that's okay. I too was secure in my ignorance. There are plenty of Glocks, Stigmas, M&Ps, XDs, etc., to go around for those guys. We CAN all just get along... ;)

Thanks, LSP972.

I know what you mean. (I love the gun but hate the price and scarcity of the mags.)

I just don't understand why HK USPc .45 mags cost more than others and are so hard to find.

If HK is not going to sell them for around $30-$35 each, I would think that somebody else would. Seems like a nitch for somebody to make a few bucks. I see nothing extra special about them that would drive the manufacturing cost up. Maybe HK has patented some feature on them.

Seems like they make 3rd party mags for every other semiauto ever made.

LSP972, when you carry it, how do you carry the USPc? Concealed?

when you say "crappy pic", does that have anything to do with a round being loaded in the magazine backwards?

LSP972, when you carry it, how do you carry the USPc? Concealed?

You bet. Open carry, while legal in this state, is a totally retarded notion in this day and age, in my geographical area. But let's not go there; too many folks get upset about it.

I have a real nice Mitch Rosen OWB leather holster and double mag pouch. These require an outer garment to conceal, but a Magellan cotton fishing shirt, worn like a jacket, does the trick. I had just gotten them "broken in" when I was advised to park the HK and carry either the issue Sig or a Glock...:crying:

So now, I'm ashamed to say, the USPc is doing ignominious duty as a "computer gun"; within reach as I sit here, in case goblins decide to try the home invasion thing at the wrong time.

The good news is that I'm marking time at this job until the wife retires; then I'm REALLY retired. Additionally, the new sheriff hasn't let us know if he intends to replace any of us in our section; so I could be going back to my beloved USPc sooner than I thought...
