My Glock 21 has a serial # of CFVxxx. The barrel has a # of L12xxx. What does this mean? Thanks in advance.

It means your pistol has mixed parts. All three numbers should match. A previous owner may have had the barrel or slide replaced. There should be a number on the frame, barrel and slide.

{My Glock 21 has a serial # of CFVxxx. The barrel has a # of
L12xxx.}

It means nothing, for some all of the serial# matching make them feel good.

The L serial# ( IIRC ) is what glock told me they use for spare replacement parts. I have bought 3 spare barrels from glock over the last 2 years and ALL have a L for the serial #.

AFAIK, I don't think glock has stamped any frame with the L SN# yet. I could be wrong.

glock replacement parts are numbered differently;

G prefix for frames, S prefix for slides and L prefix for barrels.

i think german words for the respective parts.

Correct...

From Glockfaq.com
Replacement frames slides and barrels have special serial numbers. The serial number consists of a single letter followed by 4 digits:
G#### for replacement frames
S#### for replacement slides
L#### for replacement barrels

The prefixes seem to fit with the German translation of the part they represent:
G = Griffstück (frame)
S = Schlitten (slide)
L = Lauf (barrel)
