View Full Version : Rail mount laser pinches slide, renders gun useless?
I purchased a rail mount laser for my g23, and I'm having a bit of a problem trying to use it. When I mount it on the gun and go to tighten down the screws to hold it in place, the mount squeezes the plastic frame of the glock and pinches the front of the slide. The slide can't move back and forth freely and the gun doesn't work. Has anyone else had this problem?
The laser came with a locating pin that goes in the lower groove on the rail which I'm using. I just can't see not tightening it down enough so that it doesn't bend the frame at all. It seems like it would have to be so loose that it would move around / fall off during firing. Any insight / ideas?

Toss it in the trash and learn to use the sights.

Can you post a picture of your rig??
Well I can say with my TLR-2 attached I continully have mis-feeds. Maybe I'm sqeezing the rail too??
But, todays range time was fine with new new Storm Lake bbrl installed.

I never had a probelm with my TLR-2. I just use a quarter to tighten the screw.
I don't have a picture of it mounted, but this is the laser I'm referring to:

Probably not a bad idea. I thought it would be fun to dial this thing in and see how tight of groups I can get / see how close the factory fixed sights are compared to the laser.
Edit: It says "FITS GLOCK PISTOLS WITH FRONT PICATINNY/WEAVER RAIL"
Is this somehow different from a standard g23 rail maybe?
I mean, the thing seems like it fits fine, it just starts bending the frame as soon as I start tightening it down.
Not to be a Jack*****, but you get what you pay for. I have a lasermax on my G27 and a GTL22 for my G22 which fits right the rail. They both work great out of the box and are dead on. Try getting a better quality laser, most of the "one size fits all" kits never work well.

Always smart to range test your rig!
Cover the light with masking tape, if you want to avoid clean up.
No reliability problems with SureFire X200 on G17, G19 & G21.
