I have a model 23 and would like to be able to shoot 9mm too without having to purchase another pistol. I've been told that all I need to do is buy the barrel and magazine to convert it to a 9mm. Is this possible? Should I just buy another pistol?
Change out the barrel and mag. In a pinch you can use the 23 mag. It will hold 9mm ammo to a point but they do tend to pop out of the top (wider feed/guide lips) unless going right into the gun. The conversion works well, is more then accurate, and is quite a bit cheaper then buying another gun.
can't use a factory 19 barrel. would have to get a conversion barrel like a KKM (cheeks still has them offered for a great price in the classifieds) and you might have to change the trigger housing to get the spent cases to eject properly.
you can change to a .357sig with just a barrel (factory or other)
Welcome!
Have done two G23s. As above, it works.
Not for self defense, but target use. IMHO
