I have a first generation 17L and want to replace the front sight with a set of steel sights. The front sight tool that I have does not fit into the hole below the front sight. It is smaller than the hole in my 34. Does anyone know where I can get a tool so I can install the front sight?
www.lonewolfdist.com offers an Aro-Tek front sight tool that will work. It's a beautiful all steel tool.
I belt sanded a craftsman nut driver to fix the same problem that your having, I was installing TFO's on a 35. Cheap way to do it + I have the tool for future uses

And you don't have to wait for the Lone Wolf tool to come off permanent back order.

Did the same except I got mine from Ace Hardware.
I ordered a LWD tool last year and was not impressed by it's quality. The nut driver was out of spec. and it seemed like it was very cheaply made.
