View Full Version : Beretta 92FS Police Special
Where is the best place to get this "Police Special?" (Includes 3 15 round Mags)
I have seen it as cheap as $399 in the past but wasn't in the market for a 9mm at the time.
Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know of a gun shop in the Atlanta area/ south of Atlanta that carries the Police Special?

Don't get hung up on the Police Special because of what the guy who calls himself "the Captain" said. He was fed some SERIOUS mis-information about his "PS" that he bought in Austin. He tried to tell me that the PS was much tighter on the frame to slide fit and had a match grade barrel for much improved accuracy over the regular "civilian" 92fs. He also said the police extractor was TEN times stronger than the regular 92fs and the fed ramp was 2 cm longer for added reliability!!!
I honestly don't think he was just flat out lying to me, I really believe that the shop that sold him the pistol just told him all that stuff to get more for the "special super cop Beretta". He claimed to have paid almost $700 for his "premium" Law enforcment pistol.
Not knocking the PS series of guns, they're just as good as any other 92fs, but they're not any "better" either.
They do come with an extra magazine, but the regular 92fs comes with the blue plastic hard case. Personally I have lots of extra magazines, so I like the hard case for the gun.
Don't hesitate to buy from a dealer on Gunbroker.com, I've bought over 10 guns there over the last couple of years and have had ZERO problems. Just like e-bay, check the guys "feedback" from other buyers to make sure they have all been happy with thier dealings with him. You'll have to pay shipping, but most dealers on gunbroker only charge $15-$25 for handguns and then FFL fees around here are $25-$35 dollars.
It adds about $50 to the cost of the gun, but NO SALES TAX and you can get the guns for much less than a local gunshop. I usually save at least $100-$150 on the gun even after shipping/FFL fees. Then if you have to sell it later, you don't take the big loss like you would if you paid full price for it.
Just my $0.02
You can't go wrong with any Beretta 92 series gun.
Grigrt,
American Classic Marksman on Peacthree Industrial Blvd. in Norcross (Northeast Atlanta, up the I-85 corridor) had two of them until I bought one today. He has two 92SF's left, one Police Special and one not. Both new, in the box. He's got them marked at $549 but I paid way less.
If you get one, tell him KurtZ66 from Glock Talk sent you.

I just bought one. Payed a little over $500 OTD. Not a deal, but I've always wanted a Beretta and it was there when I was. Three magazines and a blue plastic carry case inside the blue box. Any difference in the Police Specials and any other 92FS, or is it just the packaging?

the Police Special i bought came in a cardboard box with a blue cardboard cover.....i guess the extra mag was given in place of the blue plastic box

I was expecting the cardboard box, but it came with the blue cardboard outer box that says 'Police Special' and has a badge on it. The end label says 'Police Special' and the inner is a blue plastic carry case with grey eggcrate lining. Came with the pistol, 3 15 round magazines and all the assorted paperwork and lock.
I saw several today for $399 but I guess they swiped a mag because both dealers had them with 2 mags. Both also had a nice stack of 92 15 rd factory mags for $19.99.
