Make clear copies of ALL paperwork related to the weapon, Class III/ATF and otherwise....transfers, invoices, correspondence, etc. Laminate at least one copy of all this paperwork for safe storage; another copy, preferably laminated should be kept with the firearm at all times. I am not certain if the ATF allows the original papers to be laminated; best to check.
This can help to alleviate any concerns regarding your lawful ownership (rangemasters, etc.), and will help out in the event of transport/transfer or theft/loss.
Be patient; every single little thing I've done with regards to Class III paperwork took longer than I thought it should.
As for the AC556 itself, I've only fired 2 of the short-barreled examples and they both worked very well. 55gr is the way to go since the barrel twist is slower than most current AR barrels. The noise and blast are VERY prominent, but then that's half the fun for many Class III fellas.
Don't bother with the .22LR conversion kits; the one example I've seen installed simply didn't work well and they tend to gunk the barrel/gas system of most rifles.
Enjoy your new flamethrower, er, I mean assault rifle :)

Thanks for the advice...I think it will be a Hoot to Shoot...and I don't think I'll lose any money on it either...except for cases of ammo!! ;b

One problem with Ruger AC556 is that mags can be hard to come by. Original factory Ruger high-caps are expensive-- you'll pay at least $75.00 for one decent condition used 20-round blued magazine. 30 rounders can go from $100-$150 per mag. However, all Ruger factory Mini-14/AC-556 magazines are build solidly and will last a good long time so long as you take care of them.

The only trusted aftermarket Ruger mag was made by PMI. They made them in 20, 30, and 40 round capacities. My advice is to ignore the 40's and concentrate on 20's. 30's are okay, but the 20 is known to be the most reliable of the three types. (Plus, the 40 just out of the gun at a ridiculous length and angle.)

Now, if this guy is legit and his merchandise is legit and in working order, you may want to jump on this. Note that I have no connections to this seller. I'm only listing this for you as a favor and because the price is great. I do wonder slightly about that one corner without the blueing..... Let the buyer beware.

Otherwise, good luck to you and enjoy!
