With the slide forward if I put in my new, empty, 9rd mag into my G30 it doesn't drop when I press the mag release. It's a Glock mag, says so on the floorplate and it came in a sealed bag that looked pretty official. My 10 rd mags that came with the gun drop fine. I think the follower is getting caught on something. If I push the mag release button in and put the 9rd in I hear a click just before it gets to the top, then it doesn't want to come back out. If I do the same thing with the slide back there's no click and the mag drops right out. This would be a non-issue with a 10 rounder because I can grab the bottom and pull it out but the 9 rounder doesn't have much to grab onto.
I know that the mags aren't guaranteed to drop free. I also know that armor all will help mags drop if they're stuck in the well but I don't think that's the case here.
Has anyone else had this happen? Is there a way around this or do I just have to live with it?
