Please help me identify these two revolvers for a friend of my dad's:

FYI, I don't have these in my possesion, just the pics.

Smith and Wesson .357 6" 6 shot revolver, adjustable rear sight, sn#94XXX (bought sometime in the 80's)

Top break, looks like .32, no other markings other than "Made in USA" on left hand side and the "US" on both grips, sn#44XXX

Any help would be greatly appreciated since I know very little about revolvers.

Someone mentioned the bottom one might be an Iver Johnson or an H&R, but everything I found of those didn't have the "US" marking in the grips.

Thanks GTers!

The Smith & Wesson is a model 686 on the medium-large "L" frame. A good solid revolver.

The .32 is a US Revolver Co. gun which was the economy model line from Iver Johnson, who did not make expensive guns to start with. One of the things I.J. did to cut costs was to omit the "Hammer the Hammer" transfer bar action, so it is best not kept with a round under the hammer. More of a novelty than anything these days, although it would do well as a Cowboy Action Shooting pocket pistol.
