The cover of the May issue of Combat Handguns features the new Glock 30SF. The article is not a test report and other than a brief description of the gun is devoid of further specifics. There is no information as to whether or not the 30SF is presently available for sale. But it looks as if Gaston finally came through for us.
Yeah, I saw that. :) I like that magazine.

I was handling a new G21 SF, and a standard G21 when I bought my new G30 a couple of days ago, and it seemed to me that my new G30 frame felt exactly the same in terms of thickness - no uncomfortable hump at the base of the grip - as the 21SF. But there was no SF marking on my 30 frame. Is it possible that Glock is making the G30 with a trimmed down frame and just not marking it?

None of the major wholesalers have any stock yet but it is listed as a sale item in their inventory available to purchase columns showing (no stock) -
which means they have been notified that it is available to order and orders are pending waiting for stock. I have a backorder in for one and was told it will be released after the Shot Show -

Yeah but when after Shot show. I bet not for at least a couple of months. My point is that the Glock 30SF is not "here!"

I called up Glock today and asked when the gun was going to be released for sale.
The rep from Glock had no idea:dunno:

No, the G30 SF is not out.
The G30 is close to the G21SF in terms of trigger reach, (distance from the upper portion of the backstrap to the trigger) according to my crude measurements. The backstrap of the G30 doesn't have the large hump either partly because it is so short.
While the G21 SF was a big improvement for me over the G21 because of my smaller hands, I never had issue with the G30. I am quite surprised and also curious how much excess material the G30 has to give to make that much of a difference in the G30 SF.

This is obviously the reason why I have seen the firearms boards (all over) saturated with G30's for sale - LOL... Everyone, is trying to sell out before the curve so they can unload the G30 no one will want as soon as the masses find out there's a new G30SF about to break onto the market - Gotta love it...
(this is just an opinion, not insinuating it is fact)

I agree, time to head over to Barnes & Noble for some free magazine reading time. After spending hundreds and possibly thousands of dollars on gun magazines over the years, I am done paying for them.
I just read a thread on here about how the g30sf is not going to have a picatinny rail. The poster said he heard from 2 inside sources that it wouldn't. Then I hear of guys pre ordering them. According to topglock.com it will have the picatinny rail and you can pre order it. Here is a quote from their website.

WTH, do they really know what they are talking about? Are people pre ordering this gun thinking it has the picatinny rail? Why is topglock calling it a slim frame? I thought it was short frame? I have not had good luck with top glock so maybe they don't know what is going on.

Well, looks like no picatinny rail for the g30sf this year? topglock.com needs to change thier ad so they dont p.o a bunch of people who are expecting that rail only to get the glock rail.

I'll have to try the G30SF! The G30 is my favorite handgun and is very comfortable for me to use; it feels as if it molds itself to my hands. No problems whatsoever.
But I'm already compelled to add the G30SF to my arsenal. Whoo hoo!

I, talked to Glock yesterday and they said they will be shipping the 30sf in about 2 weeks.
