I'm in the very beginning stages of considering a temporary move to Minnesota. I'd love to talk to some folks here to get the ups and the downs, if at all possible.

Thanks!

That's correct. I'm at another seminary now. SJ was on my short list when I finished my BA a little later in life, but I couldn't sell my wife because of the location and distance. I still probably can't, but she's more open to the idea now.

The area around St John's is beautiful in the fall. St Cloud is not far from the cites. DelTone range is on the east side of St Cloud. There are a couple of other ranges in the area. St John's more expensive then Nortre Dame! Lots of lakes in the area. Some nice small towns like Cold Spring Avon Rocville. You will have Gander Mtn Sportsmans Warehouse and Scheels All Sports in St Cloud. There is a new indoor range about 40 miles east in Monticello.

I took the liberty to add a few notes. :whistling:

I'd love to talk to some folks here to get the ups and the downs,

Ups and downs depend on likes and dislikes....

How do you like snow and cold?

How do you like pro sports?

How do you like taxes?:crying:

Depending on your answers you'll either love it or hate it...

Honestly, all in all it's pretty great and most of the people are wonderful. Welcome and have fun.

I followed your post to find the MN State Club. Happy to see that there are some active members. I live in Eagan now, but went to SCSU in St Cloud and used to wander the Collegeville area. You'll like it out there. People can be a little Cliquie, but they are generally nice and as long as you make an effort to get to know them, they'll warm up to you.

I'm happy to have found this area on GT.

It's kinda like the OAF when VR ask you for a dollar, Tousi ask you for a dummy round.

I jsut signed up for the two forums. With membership to THR, GT and the other two, I think I'm officially a right wing gun nut.

to prove that you have to go to the "lighter side" forum and read NavyHMC's thread about gun nuts.

this is the thread I was referencing, if you say you're a gun nut you've got to take the test and add one or two.
