View Full Version : Gov. Strickland outlaws skilled games, Turns to Keno to help state
I see where our great Gov. Strickland has changed his tune on gambling. He was so set against it, but now he is going to let the Lottery Commission expand games, such as allowing Keno machines in bars. So we outlaw "skilled games" closing many small businesses but the state can allow Keno to help it's troubled budget. Ironic, isn't it.
That's usually how it works, isn't it?
In this state, unfortunately. I just read a good article out of the Steubenville Herald-Star. It had an onwer of a bar on there complaining about losing business due to the smoking ban. Residents of Steubenville can drive across the river to WV where they can gamble, drink and smoke all in one place. You take a look at the license plates at Wheeling Island or Mountaineer, Ohio plates everywhere.

The same with Cincinnati. We lucky enough to reside here have two choices (Kentucky and Indiana). Both are moments from anywhere in the greater Cincinnati area. The real kicker is the extremely gun (CCW permit holders) friendliness of both states. And let's not forget the 51% rule allowing for being armed in a restaurant that serves alcohol. I'd hate to live far from a bordering state with Ohio's ridiculous laws. Cincinnati at least has that to offer.
Ohio could take a lesson from both these states!
