How do I get batter to stick to onion rings? Mine always come out naked. :dunno:

also use onion powder in the batter.

It won't make it stick but will add more taste.

Do you put them in a egg wash first?

Try this
Shake the rings in a plastic bag with a little flour before you put them in the batter

flour + cracker crumbs in (2nd) breading.

first, flour + a dash onion powder & a tiny dash red pepper

then, egg wash, after floured.

then, into the REAL breading, which has cracker crumbs & flour & garlic & onion powder, a dab of salt, a dash of cayenne.

yer fangers gets all lumped up with it too.. makes a big ol mess..

good though.

Do you put them in a egg wash first?

if you are using Breading (when I do, I use half flour and half cracker meal with salt and pepper added)

you first flour (plain flour and you could shake the rings in a bag to do this.

Then in to the eggs (now you have something for the eggs to hold on to)

Then into the dry breading.

When using Batter flour the rings then dip into the batter.

Remember "One hand dry"

and the easy way to remove the lumps is with dry flour.
