View Full Version : Silver Bullet CPL course
I can highly recommend the CPL course at Silver Bullet Firearms in Grand Rapids, MI. The certified NRA instructors were top notch, the time with the attorney was worth the price alone. The class was about 10 hours.
I just took it this last Saturday and am applying for my CPL today. Wish me luck!

That store is top notch. I thought I was in a jewelry store when I walked in. Clean, stocked well, very knowledgeable staff, and inventory up the wazoo!
Prices were a little on the high side, but not real bad. The rest of the experience makes it worth it. How are the range nazi's, I mean the range guys?
The range guys seemed pretty good. I was being instructed, though. Hard to judge how they'd be if you just came in to shoot.

They are one of the nicest gun stores I have ever seen. Nice range too.

Not bad as long as you follow the rules.
The one thing I saw last winter the first time I shot there was they were strict on keeping the uncased guns at the shooting lane.
I saw them remind a couple of shooters to put the gun in a case at the fireing line when they were walking to the bench behind them with an uncased gun.

Yes, and make sure your weapon is pointed down range, I watched some guy (who must talk with his hands) forget he had his gun in hand and wave it around when he spoke.... Before I could say anything, an employee was right next to him.... But I carry my G30 on my hip and replace with new clip when I leave the range, nobody bats an eye.. If your in the market for new gun, and you're in the area check out a store called Gary's Guns on Apple in Muskegon. Small mom n pop shop, but great prices. I bought my G19 from silver bullet, bought my G30 from Gary's Guns for less.

Another good place in GR is Rylee's Ace Hardware. Prices are competitive with SB on some guns, but they don't have the selection that SB does. They will happily order for you though.

I completely agree, Silver Bullet's cpl class was top notch, very fun and informative. When I heard the class was 8 hours long I dreaded going but the times flies. You get great information and hear great stories. Rick and Mike are great guys, very helpful.
And Mr. Dulane was worth every penny, best part of the class (aside from the fun shooting drills).
I shoot at the SB range nearly every week and havwe had no problem. While signing in to the go the range, one of the female employees gave me and a friend a shooting tip, something so simple, that completely changed my accuracy and consistancy. Great employees.
Okay i'll end my SB rant, but I love the store.
I have to concur with the other posts here. I took the CPL class at SB and thought it was very well done. The instructors knew their stuff, the shooting was fun, and Mr. Dulane was top notch in his presentation. I recommend them highly.
+1 for Silver Bullet, although not too many other choices in GR. Had some nice chats with a few of the employees and there range is nice. First time I used it I uncased off the line, nobody said anything, but after reading the signs I now know. Looking to buy a 642 from them.
