Michigan Shooters Get Together

This was originally posted on AR15.com in the Michigan hometown forum. I know a lot of us read both forums, but some don't. This wasn't my post, but I wanted to pass it along.

Quite a few people who hang out here went to the last ARFcom dinner (10ringTao, Barbara, and others who don't come to mind right away). It would be cool to get the Michigan community back together. We were going well for a while there with Pit shoots, poker at Glen's house, pin shooting, but I hasn't seemed as active lately.

Saturday, April 26, 1-5pm

I would like to invite all interested in getting together with other fellow gun enthusiasts to Nikola's Restaurant in Southfield, 25225 Telegraph at 10 Mile, NW side. We have one whole room to ourselves, up to 150 people. I'll throw some gun related stuff on the big screen TVs.

A few people have asked if they could bring some of their "goodies" to show off - a FAMAS, Barrett, MP5, etc, which is fine by me but I have to know in ADVANCE and approve you bringing it in. This is a closed door function but I wanna make sure we play it SAFE. Of course, Concealed Pistol Licensees are welcome.

The last meetup was good times. A few of us shot a round of sporting clays beforehand, and then the whole group met up at copper canyon.

Oh, and whatever happened to glen? I was in his area and called and he didn't answer my voicemail, and I left him a PM months before which went unanswered too. Did he die? Get abducted by aliens? Amnesia? Enquiring minds want to know.

Reminds me of the scene in a movie about ten years ago, where two guys try to stick up a "cop's bar" in NY or Chicago, and the whole bar draws down on them, and the robbers start fighting with each other for being so stupid.

Heh, if you're worried about dealing with the fine citizens of detroit, fear not. This place is in southfield, which for the most part is a decent suburb. Still some ghetto areas, but nothing near like detroit.
