A 1953 Izzy with Artic Birch stock.
IZHEVSK armory only made SKS's in 1953 and 1954 making them a bit more scarce than TULA Armory built ones (1949 to 1955)
This one appears original except for a visit to re-Arsenal but somehow escaped with it's original stock! At least as best I can tell as its marked correctly and is not a laminate stock (which most of them got when they got rebuilt)
Details that I have on it from a quick examination without taking it apart:
All stamped in numbers matching marked as TE 409 including bolt, Trigger guard, Magazine, Gas tube and side of receiver.... and even the stock! An importers mark from California also on side of receiver (cannot recall exactly the name right now) and a serial number after that
Arsenal rebuild mark under the Izzy mark. Blackened bolt done in rearsenal. Does have an authentic Sling and Tool pod.
The following markings on stock and appears original stock or at least numbered correctly for the gun.

A real nice addition to my Cold War collection. Another commie gun.
Also recently picked up this Dane return M1 Garand. All Springfield correct parts from 1943 with exception of a Danish rear sight cover and a almost brand new Marlin Barrel. It came with a European Birch stock but original Walnut Hand guards but I found a nice original Walnut stock and swapped that out. So now it matches and is as shown...
