Hey folks, I thought I'd drop into the forum as I'll be emigrating north from Kentucky and sneaking over the river some night this spring to take up residence in southern Indiana :)
I've done some research, but the thing I'm running into is wondering if anyone else knows if there's a way to 'preregister' as an Indiana resident so I can get a jump on the clock for my CCW (and the same goes for my wife). We each have our Kentucky permits, but the timeline of having to wait (unarmed) while paperwork goes through and such after years of safely carrying and being responsible for our own safety has us both a bit... discomfited, I guess you'd say. It's one thing to leave something in the car when you're on jury duty or packing it into luggage when flying, but it's a whole different feeling thinking you'll be at least mostly disarmed for some extended period of time while waiting on the permit application process. If anyone's been through this or has any advice on speeding up the process if it can't be bypassed, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks very much, and I look forward to having some new places to shoot and hopefully, some new folks to shoot with!
