They've been showing the "sex tape scandal" news clip all day on CNN.

I wasn't surprised much by it, knowing a few Elkhart cops... But at the same time, they didn't do anything illegal.

I bet some wives are PO'd though!

They might not have done anything illegal, but two lost their jobs and several supervisors were disciplined. A losing situation all the way around!:crying:

Yeah I read that one was fired and one resigned. I'm sure some heads will roll.

It's never good when you make the national news for having your employees groping a woman at the reception desk... Especially when you're government employees!

It is a sad story all the way around though.

My main question is, "How drunk was that chick?"

She had to be at least a little tipsy to be acting like that. Not excusing anyone's behavior though...

Didn't do anything illegal? Really?

According to whom? Chief Wiggum of EPD?

The next time I get a guy prosecuted for Battery for touching a stripper or a stripper prosecuted for Obscene Performance I will play the Elkhart PD "Cops gone wild" video at the motion to dismiss.

Cops gone wild: http://www.postchronicle.com/news/original/article_212129338.shtml

The police want to "move on from the incident". Funny, I have a whole bunch of clients that want the same thing but I always seem to have a prosecutor yammering and grabbing their lapels about "holding people accountable" or "responsibility".

Prosecutors are like player pianos with two songs--accountability and responsibility. Wonder if the Elkhart County Prosecuting Attorney will hold anyone accountable or responsible here?

Must be warm in Elkart.

Isn't she wearing standard stripper issue summer wear?

Yes, that is the Class B (non-working or going to work) stripper uniform.

I speculated on DefendNet that she was a passenger in an OWI stop and since she was hot, the cops cut her loose rather than popping her for PI. She was probably working out of Chicago club.

I like how Assistant Chief Wiggum has the temerity to say that she was "just waiting for a ride." That's good work, boys. So, people can walk in off the street in Elkhart and wait for cabs at EPD?:rofl:

If Curtis Hill's reputation proceeds him, I wouldn't be surprises if someone is held accountable.

Curtis Hill has been overstepping his bounds lately.

He has a bad habit of giving a press conference and then trashing the **** out of people.

Pick up an Elkhart paper and you'll see what I mean.

It's one thing to comment on a criminal case, but when no charges are filed, he should keep his mouth shut.

His opinion of an officer's conduct is no more valid than mine or yours, so long as the court is not involved.

Say what you want about Hill, better than the corrupt Dvorak family in St. Joseph County.

The man's entitled to his opinion and free speech just as much as any other man, notwithstanding his office.

It might do him better to keep his mouth shut, but we all know what Lincoln said about that.

My problem is that he uses his position to pass moral judgment instead of legal judgment.

There is a huge difference between the two.

I may absolutely abhor the fact that Curtis Hill is, say, a heterosexual. But does that give me a right to use a position of authority over him to call him out in the local press and drag him through the mud? Even though he has done nothing illegal?

You're right - he's entitled to his opinion. He just needs to separate his personal beliefs from his professional practices.

I used to respect him, but after the way he's handled two recent investigations, I think he's a total ass.

There must be hormones leaking into the Elkhart water system. Prior to the EPD incident, there was an EFD firefighter accused of peeking into the women's restroom. He was not terminated. Prior to that was an incident involving two female employees in the communications center. Cold shower, anyone?
