I would like to register my AR lower as a SBR.
It is currently set up as a 9mm pistol, and I wish to set it up as a SBR.
For the most part it will remain a 9mm, but later down the road I may want to set it up as a .223.
Can I put down 9mm and .223 for the caliber, or do I have to choose just one?
There are varied answers for this question and the answer seems to depend on the examiner, time of year, quantity of work, or (fill in the blank)....
Some have had success using "multi" as the cal and <16" for the barrel length. This is the old school way and was never a problem until abt 2 years ago. Since then, it has been hit/miss for some and no problems for others.
Others like myself, have had problems and have had to list a specific length/cal as the primary and then in the additional info section, listed "to also occationally be used with 9mm and 5.56 uppers in the following barrel lengths; 7.5", 10", 10.5", 11.5" and 14.5". Mine was subsequently approved the 2nd time around....

Thanks for the input. :wavey:
I'll probably leave it one length, and cal.

Also, What I have is a built from the ground up RRA 9mm pistol.
What would I put down for "model"?
It says LAR-15 on the receiver.

I'm doing the same thing, though not building a pistol.
Mine the same lower, LAR15...I put AR15 in the model field.
Are you building a pistol, or SBR? You can simply buy a pistol, and no form1 needed.

I have allready built the pistol, but I want to put a stock on it. (SBR)
My intention from the start was to build it up as a pistol just so I could shoot it while waiting to get the stamp of aprovall.
The idea I have in my head, is to have a suppressed AR15 rifle in 9mm that comes out to aproximately the same length as my mid-length AR with the suppresssor installed.
And now that I read my previous post, I think I answered my own question about the model.
Here is a pic of said gun.

Just answer the questions as asked:
4a - who made the lower, Bushmaster, Stag, CMT, Olympic,
4b - Short Barrel Rifle
4c - pick a caliber (enter 1), "multi" is not a valid choice.
4d - AR-15, everybody knows an AR-15 when they see it
4e - length of barrel,,,, "less than 16" is not a valid choice
4f - OAL of firearm with the short barrel
4g - serial # as it appear on the lower
4h - additinal marks to document the lower, but nothing required to be entered in this box.
I have allready built the pistol, but I want to put a stock on it. (SBR)
Gotcha.
Put the model on the form 1 as the lower says- techinically it's not a model ar15 it's an lar-15.
and I have 2 through with multi and <16"
