I asked him where he stood on the D.C vs Heller.
Dear Mr. Brumley:
Thank you for expressing support for federal action to repeal laws banning firearms in the District of Columbia.
I have heard from constituents who share your views, as well as from those who believe that because gun laws are largely under the jurisdiction of state and local communities, overriding D.C.’s gun safety laws sets a precedent dangerous to the current judicial framework protecting Second Amendment rights. In previous years, I have voted against legislation which would repeal D.C.'s gun laws. Such legislation is vehemently opposed by the District’s Mayor and Congressional Delegate, as well as various business and tourism interests in Washington, D.C.
Thank you again for contacting me.
Sincerely,
Sherrod Brown

:yawn: Sherrod Brown is a typical northern Ohio liberal. I wonder if Free Speech and Free Assembly are under the jurisdiction of state and local communities??
Local laws do not pre-empt the constitution.
If this is the kind of brain we are sending to Washington, then we are in sad shape.

'have previously' says 'I don't care, i'm betting the hand i'm dealt, make me a deal I can live with and i'll flex'..
this is entirely different from 'I am in favor of all gun control'..
yeah, he's a BS'r.. but don't mistake his expeditious position for one of IDEALISM or personal philosophy.
he can be bought, and likely even rented. 'i have previously' .. means, "make me an offer" in politician-speak.
put him on the 'b' list, not the 'a' list with feinstein, ok?
always good to keep track of the ones that aren't bought YET..

I received the same form letter from Senator Brown.
After having a chance to calm myself, I called his Washington D.C. office to ask for Senator Brown's mailing address. I offered to send a complimentary copy of the U.S. Constitution. I said that the content of the letter indicated that he obviously wasn't familiar with the document.
Haven't gotten around to sending it yet. Figure there is a good chance that he can't read either.

I got the same response as the others and just kind of filed it away. Come next election this experience will help motivate me to work to see him defeated.

In my opinion, Sherrod Brown is an Ohio Senator now, ONLY because so many Republican voters disliked the RINO, Mike DeWine, and would not support him with their vote.
Mike DeWine was a moderate Republican Senator, and was basically anti-gun.
The problem is, is that because of apathy or dislike of the moderate RINO Mike Dewine, we now have the RABID ANTI-GUNNER, and ULTRA LIBERAL Sherrod Brown!
Voting most always comes down to voting for the "lesser of two evils," and the choice between Mike DeWine and Sherrod Brown was definitely a "lesser of two evils" choice.
Please remember this in the fall of '08, when our Presidential choice will probably be Obama and McCain. While McCain is NOT a true conservative, Obama is the ULTRA-LIBERAL, ULTRA ANTI-GUN choice, and McCain is the semi anti-gun choice.
This fall I will hold my nose, and again vote for the "lesser of two evils."

I agree!! I hated Mike DeWine but I voted for him because I knew that Sherrod Brown likes to call himself a "progressive", which is a nice term for Socialist. I can't believe the choices we get for Senator in this state. Are there any true conservatives left in Ohio?
