Got a DE 50 (Brushed chrome 6 inch) for x-mas 2007. Man what a gun. I thought my Ruger Super Blackhawk had a kick. This doll is great.

One question thought I have followed the manual in trying to get the grips off but they don't want to budge. Any tricks to getting them off?

I never tried. I'll have to look at mine.

BTW, congrats on your DE!

Follow the manual but make sure to pull the rear edge of the grips as far apart as "you dare". They have hooks inside and you have to get them about 1/8 to 1/32 away from the frame. First time I took mine off I needed the wifes help. It was a "hold the gun and pull" thing.

P.S While they're off......replace them with the Hogue overmolded grips. Makes the DE even better.

Thanks Sawman, I'll give 'er a try., Was afraid I'd pull too hard and mess em up. Will check the Hoges out too.

Thanks, mercury0_0, That is a great thread. Really explains how to do the job much better that the Instruction manual.
