I love the smell of Break Free CLP, my Glock never needs to really be cleaned even with as much as I shoot it...but I clean it just to get that smell! :)

CLP is one of the best all around gun cleaners/lubes out there, however I agree with you that it smells. I was paranoid when I first started ccw, and I swear that a lady in work always sniffed around saying she smelled something funny, every Monday when my gun was freshly cleaned from a weekend of shooting. I don't know maybe she was looking for a Marine:upeyes: Anyway, I stopped using it and switched to Rem oil, which is pretty much odorless.

+1 Plus hoppes does not linger like CLP, I have not use it in over a year and my gun safe still smells like it.

WeaponShield is the best stuff out there right now. I highly recommend it.

But, if you are determined to use a CLP, try M-Pro 7's. It is not bad either, but a distant 2nd place to WeaponShield.
