Extended mag release options for the G36?

I've been looking into an extended magazine release for my G36. I've read a few places that make it sound like a standard G17 type release will work, but since the 36 frame is smaller it will simply stick out further, basically making it an extended release.

That doesn't sound intuitive to me.

I'm hoping that some of you more knowledgeable folks here can help point in the direction of my options. Web sites, part number, etc would be great too, if you happen to know them.

Thats what I did, I just used the G17 release. It does stick out a ways but you can just sand it down to your desired length. I put the original back in because the extended release would cause the mag to fall out when carried on my CTAC holster. YMMV, but it wasn't a neccesity for me, only a convience. It was not convient to have the mag fall out on me. If this isn't your daily carry or the holster you use doesn't cause this to happen then you're all set.

Well that's great to know. I do plan on using this as a carry gun, and my favorite rigs are CTACs. I suppose I'll have to train around the mag release issue.
