i was about to purchase one yesterday at a gun show but they didnt take debit cards. Does anybody have one and can you put 50 rds in or is it just a novelty item like the 75 rd magazine. The brand is national magazines which i never heard of so should i just save my money.
I have a drum magazine (the spring loaded wind up kind) that I would choose over anything that unwieldy. Still, it would be better suited for a real full auto version than anything semi auto, mag changing being as quick as it is. Weight, height of profile, overall size, all that stuff plays into the usefulness of a weapon for anything other than impressing the unknowing at the range.
i have a 75 round drum but the 50 rd mag caught my eye at the gun show and i wanted to get it.

I have one, does not work too well.
Some were welded together from two 30rd magazines.
This thing is not very good, in fact if you look at www.cheaperthandirt.com it will say on the ad for it that it is for novelty purposes only.
You end up putting a lot of leverage on your mag catch and they can get caught on things pretty easily.
National Magazine sells nothing but JUNK. Don't risk your life your waste your money. Changing a 30rd mag is easy and they are incredibly reliable. There's a reason that the soviets used 30 rather than 40. Anything above that in 7.62x39 is unwieldy at best and potentially unreliable at worst.
