First outing with the SBR.

I received my Form 1 earlier this month and had the chance today to take my LMT 10.5 upper to the range and try it out. I had various brands of ammunition to shoot.

Rifle setup:

LMT 10.5 inch upper with CMT BCG.
Doublestar lower with LMT LPK and KNS anti rotation pins.
YHM BUIS.
EOTech 551.
DD Omega rail.
Magpul MIAD, CTR, Trigger guard.
3 PMAGS.

Mag 1: 30rds unknown ammo. Bolt was riding over the rounds and not feeding X 6
Mag 2: 20rds Monarch 55gr. Every round was single shot, would not cycle without using the charging handle. 6 FTE’s
Mag 3: 20rds Win Ranger 62gr M855. No issues.
Mag 4: 20rds AE 55gr. No issues.
Mag 5-6:40rds Fed XM193. No issues
Mag 7: 30rds Miwall 55gr reloads. No issues.
Mag 8: 20rds Wolf brass XM193. 20 FTE/FTF. Would not cycle without CH.
Mag 9: 20rds Silver Bear 62gr soft point. No issues.
Mag 10: ADCOM M855. OAL appeared too long for the magazine and would not load properly. I did not attempt to fire these.
Mag 11-15: 30rds ea Miwall reloads. No issues.
Mag 16: 26rds Miwall reloads. No issues.

All problems were ammo related. I'm happy with the functioning of the weapon. The iron sights dialed in fairly quickly. I'm still not sure I'm doing it right, but it was hitting were I wanted it to. The EOTech was easy to sight in. It's like cheating after that. The small dot is just above the front sight post. This is a fun gun and will also be my HD gun with 75gr TAP. :supergrin:

Great looking rifle!!! I just bought a RRA 10.5" upper and love it. I tried a 7.5" upper for a while, but for me and 5.56, I think the 10.5 uppers are the best....

Make sure you test it out and make sure it likes the 75gr TAP before you rely on it as your HD gun.

It seemed to like the 62gr's just fine. I don't have any TAP to spare right now, so I'll just keep a 20 of XM193 in it. I keep 20's in all my AR's as they fit in the safe better. :supergrin:
