Nothing wrong with dreaming! I have my ffl and sot and have shot the G18. It absolutely SCREAMS....basically useless for swat or police use BUT it was fun to dump a couple of 33 rd mags from it!

You are almost correct. Since the G18 is a foreign made MG it would have had to have been imported before 1968 in order to be transferable to a civilian. The 1986 ban was on domestic made MG's.

Now I have had the unique privilege of firing a GLOCK18.. loads of fun for all of about 3 seconds, but totaly impractical !

it's use is limited to the very specialized needs. Glock previously themselves offer a special training course Glock 18, and at one point they wouldn't sell them to any customers in the US until they had taken the course. I dont know if this is still the case.

Don't forget to tell him the $500 is per year. He will also need a demo letter from a PD to get a G18 or even a registered post sample conversion device. Also, the license is for you to be a dealer (i.e. selling). It is illegal to get an 01/03 FFL/SOT in order to simply enhance your personal collection. I am all for people getting what they dream about, but give them ALL the info so they can make an informed decision about whether it is worth the hassle or not.

Just about everything you need to know is in the basic license packet, or will be answered by your compliance inspector when you apply for your license.

I've heard the ATF is getting strict about who is eligible for FFLs these days. Does anyone have a link for good information to read up on? Just your basic FFL, not SOT.

Unless they make a special exception for gun grabbing scumbag dealers that promise they will work to put every other dealer out of business for a monopoly.

It looks like you threw a handfull of live rounds in the air and then had someone snap the picture,the slide is closed and I dont see any smoke like you would have from shooting full auto. And the brushes in the background look kind of screwy like you did something with photoshop. Or you could have been doing a bump fire,but it looks like those are live rounds in the air,I can kinda see the bullet on some of them. Maybe you were holding a handfull of live rounds in your right hand and your buddy with the camera yells go and you throw the live rounds into the air while raising the g17 at the same time and your buddy snaps a picture and you call it a day.

Why would a SOT go through all that trouble when he has a demo letter? All he has to do is make a phone call, wire funds, send the demo letter and FFL/SOT, and a REAL G18 shows up three days later.

I've seen many idiotic statements on GT but I think you've topped them all. The slide opens and closes as the gun fires, he just happened to throw them with his right hand in an arch. Congrats on being an idiot. :whistling:

That photo looks correct to me. Cant you see the heat comin off the gun, not all guns shoot flames like the movie guns do. These guns run so quick the rnds are VERY close to one another, its somewhere around 1,800 rpm. I say the photo is real, have shot them enough and have pics and vids of them runnin and no big fire.
