Input please: Galco's "ankle glove" holster...

because of the type of work i do, the ankle glove appears to be the best type of holster for me. any inpput on its concealability and effectiveness? also, where's a good website to purchase one for a lefty? Galco site wants $80 for it. i know its out there cheaper, but i cannot find a site specifying one for lefty's at the cheaper price.

It may be a long shot but Dillon carries these in their catalog. You might get in touch with them and see if they stock both right and left hand models. I know they will try to help you whatever the stocking situation. Good luck.

I should have looked at the catalog before I jumped into this topic. Dillon carries the DeSantis ankle rig not the Galco. Good luck with your search.

I haven't used the Desantis or some of the other top of the line ankle holsters for Glocks, but I have used the Galco Ankle Glove for some time with a G27. The Galco distributes the weight better than anything else I've tried and it is very comfortable.

You might want to check out the Fobus ankle holter before you make your decision to buy Galco or Desantis. I've tried them all and like the Fobus best. Just happens to be the least expensive too. It holds the pistol firmly and the way the velcro double backs and fastens seems to allow for a custom fit around the ankle.

I carry a Kahr MK9 in mine. It is OK, I think the velcro will eventually wear out but it still is in service after 1 1/2. I don't like ankle carry as it is TERRIBLY slow to draw from and is somewhat awkward. I go with an ankle gun when nothing else works. -Coug

Anyone put a G32 on the ankle? I know it is not the best situation but I have seen it done. Some days I cannot carry with my current holsters, but the ankle would be an option.

I wear a G32 on my ankle (Fobus) everyday :)

Dunamis, I carried the 33 in my left ankle with the Galco ankle glove, I found it uncomfortable, I carry pocket or strongside. If I can't conceal the 33 I go to the Taurus85UL. I sold my ankle holster, some do like it.M33

Are you set on the Galco Ankle Glove? If not, you may want to try the Alessi ankle rig. It sells for about $15 bucks more, but from what I have read and heard on this forum, it's the best ankle rig out there. I don't believe I have heard anyone give these a bad review. I plan on getting one for my G36 when I get the money. Check www.rfholsters.com for the Alessi holster line, good prices too.
