View Full Version : Can't find Burris Signature 1-in Zee Rings High Black Matte
I am not sure what's going on but NOBODY at all seems to have Burris Signature 1-in Zee Rings High Black Matte (420531) in stock.
Not MidWayUSA, not CheaperThanDirt, not any of the optics and outdoor sports places that show up with a Google search, not even eBay.
These are wonderful rings and I need the high ones.
Apparently so does everybody else.
Every web site says, "backordered" except one place. I ordered a set from them and got an email that they are backordered there as well.
Aaaaaagggghhhhhhh!!! :steamed:

Did you try SWFA (also known as Riflescopes.com)?
Here's the page, but I can't say if they have them is stock or not.
http://www.swfa.com/pc-1256-456-burris-signature-zee-1-rings.aspx
They do show a phone number, though. Call and check stock, perhaps?
Good price if they got 'em. I also like/use these rings. Good luck!

Thanks much, guys.
I have sent an email in to SWFA to see if they have them in stock.
I will also check Natchez.
I had checked Brownells. They are out of stock.
But speaking of Brownells . . . why are they so terribly expensive on everything? For example, these Burris High Matt Black Signature Zee Rings are $52.00 at Brownells and everybody else lists them at around $32.
I have read that some people get a discount at Brownells (not sure how). I think I read in their catalog that if you have a C&R license on file with Brownells you get a discount. I have no C&R license.
Natchez is also temporarily out of stock on these.

Not sure what's going on, but it's strange.
Maybe they are all going to Iraq . . . :dunno:
SWFA also says by email, "No we do not have them in stock."

Sux.
Maybe call Burris and see if they'll sell you a set factory-direct?
Worth a shot; play up the "These are the greatest rings EVAR" angle...
Yeah, I will call them Monday.
I think retail on them is around $55, but Burris does not generally sell directly to consumers.
Here is a notice on their web site (they list no rings at all for direct sale, but they do sell a few scopes and screws and such directly):
Welcome to the Burris Factory Ecommerce Site
Burris, as a company, is organized solely as a manufacturer and not as a retailer of the products we engineer and manufacture.
Burris has also long been known to respond to the desires of its customers by producing many specialty scopes. As Burris manufactures close to 200 different configurations of scopes, it is often difficult for consumers to locate a chosen item through our regular distribution channels of sporting goods retailers and catalogers. The internet has opened many new doors and Burris is attempting to utilize this avenue to better service the needs of our ultimate customers. To this end, Burris has developed this section of our website which lists for retail sale many items that are generally not readily available through our dealers or resellers. In addition, some products are simply discontinued configurations of a particular reticle or color finish for which we have a few remaining in stock and are not in our current catalog or web site. For any products not found on this list, we respectfully encourage you to purchase the item from one of our thousands of dealers or resellers, a list of which can be found in the Dealer Listing section of this site.
Looks like they have subbed out their web sales to some third party web company. Note that it is not a "www.burris" site:

Well, at least they have recognized that there is a problem, and taken a step to address it. I would think that this would make it easier to convince them to sell you a single item, vs. a "No retail sales -- ever!" policy.
Just make it clear that you love and prefer to use their stuff, but if you can't find the item you need, you're not gonna put a new rifle and scope in the safe and wait for an undefined "someday" that the product you want/need will become easily available. You can also tell them that at least one other Burris rings fan will be closely watching the outcome. I've been lucky enough to always find the item I need in relatively short order, and I've even been known to stock-up on items I know I'll use "someday" if I can afford it and I see them on sale or clearance. But when it gets to the point that I can't find the item I need in a reasonable amount of time (maybe a week, or 3-4 solid hours searching though on-line sources), then they need to step up and fill the need or suffer the consequences of a dissatisfied (perhaps former) customer.

I emailed Burris:
I am not sure what's going on but NOBODY at all seems to have Burris Signature 1-in Zee Rings High Black Matte (420531) in stock.
Not MidWayUSA.
Not Brownells.
Not CheaperThanDirt.
Not SWFA.
Not NatchezSS.
Not OpticsPlanet.
Not any of the optics and outdoor sports places that show up with a Google search.
Not even eBay.
And not even your own Burris Factory Ecommerce Site.
These are wonderful rings and I need the high ones in black matt.
Apparently so does everybody else.
Your web site still lists them; so I assume that they are not discontinued.
Every web site says, "backordered" except one place. I ordered a set from them and got an email that they are backordered there as well.
Forget buying them in retail stores. No store I have ever been in has ever stocked any Burris Signature Zee rings. They look at me like I'm from planet Mars when I ask.
Do you know what's going on, or better yet, where I can buy a set?

Write them back, referencing the original message, and ask them if they will sell you a set direct, as soon as they become available again.
Don't beat around the bush; ask them!
