View Full Version : Decison Day Is Here, And I Need Help
My mine is made up.....almost! Either a new G34 9mm or G35 .40 S&W. What is the difference in ammo prices? I want to use my new gun in competition. I already have a G23 and G19 so I know the felt recoil difference. Help me decide! Thanks in advance.
I would go with the 34. In my area, 9mm is $6.98 - $8.96 a box and .40 is $11.98 - $13.89 a box. All future handgun purchases for me will be 9mm for this reason.
Get the 34, unless you reload.
I was told the other day that 40 ammo, is more than 45:wow:

G35 all the way. Ammo is cheaper than the .45, not as cheap as the 9mm. It's great.

Get the G35 with a 9mm conversion barrel. Then you can shoot both.

I had the same question awhile back and I settled on the G35. The reason is because I purchased aftermarket KKM Precision barrels in 9MM, 357 Sig, and another 40 S&W barrel, so I can shoot lead. If you get the 34, you're stuck with 9MM only!
I almost went with the 35 for the reasons bluewater stated, but ultimately took the 34 because at the time I couldn't change bbls in IDPA. I think that's still the case, and the 34 is a cheaper gun to practice and compete with.
