View Full Version : Mags
I figure I'd better buy a few extra mags before Obama (or McCain for that matter) takes office, so I'd like some advice from you guys. Are the Scherer high capacity magazines from Glockworld/Topglock good? I want to buy about 4 extra mags, 2 standard, 2 high capacity. Thanks in advance for your info. :wavey:
hell no !! if it don't say GLOCK on it !!!! do not buy them:whistling:
Nothing but real Glock, check cdnnsports.com they have new, used offer free shipping every now and then.

Accuse me of piling on if you like, but friends don't let friends buy Scherer magazines!
Incidentally, Outdoor Marksman is having a sale on REAL standard-capacity Glock magazines if you happen to live in a Free State.
Get the glock mags and Glock mags only. http://glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=662478&page=18
This guy seems to have a better deal than anyone else, so I ordered a bunch from him.

I owned one Sherer magazine.
After being fully loaded in a sock drawer for a year, and NEVER fired,
the liner rusted and the spring was so weak it couldn't push the last
few rounds to the feed lips.
Complete garbage.
With Glock mags being $16 or less, why would you consider anything else?
With the magazine being so critical to the proper operation of your glock I can't see why saving a couple of dollars makes any sense at all.
I buy my mags from www.shootersplus.com
Can't beat good customer service and fast shipping times.
I wouldn't understand why anyone would buy anything else but Glock brand magazines. If you look around they can be had for a reasonable price. Glock all the way.
Thanks guys! I'll go Glock mags only!

I had always planned on Glock brand mags for the standard capacity. But, I have not found a Glock brand mag with a capacity of 20+ for .40 cal. Maybe they don't make them? That's why I had thought about the Scherer 29 rd mag. But, I'll avoid them after the input of this thread. Thanks!

Glock only makes one really long magazine and that is for the G18, which is chambered for 9mm. However, Arredondo and other companies do make extensions for Glocks magazines of various calibers. (I haven't tried any of them.)

Maybe its time for an online petition to the representitives of Glock for a 30 round .40 magazine. Flood the company with requests until we see results. I can't see the production cost outwaying the profit for such an item. Besides who wants to pay $45/$50 dollars for a crap scherer 29 round junk mag?
