I am thinking of getting a suppressor for my Glock 21SF. Could do some target shooting w/o ear muffs.
But most suppressors look like they have a diameter that would interfere with my sights.
Is this an optical illusion? Or do I need to try to find a suppressor with a small diameter? Is there one?

As a longtime supressor user I hear the question all the time.
ANS. It does not matter with both eyes open acquire the target as normal your sights will index into perfect alignment on the can just place the sights on target , the can will seem to block out a small portion of the view, but not much. your sight alignment will be near perfect especially if you have night sights. just put the aligned sights where you want to hit.

I have a suppressed G21. I did not like having my sight picture blocked by the can. I ended up getting some LPA adjustable sights that were taller and cleared the can. They make all the difference in the world.
BTW, My can is a Tac Ord 45 can and I have a custom threaded Jarvis bbl. I played with it a bit at first and stuck it in the safe where it remains, along with a custom Thompson Contender 16" 45acp bbl threaded for the can. A single shot 45 acp rifle with a closed breach is a really cool toy. Zero action noise, obviously.
I would be interested in selling the package since I work 10 months out of the year overseas and simply do not use the setup like it deserves.
You may contact me if you are actually serious about buying a 45 suppressor/package.

i have a glock 21sf with stock sites. purchased a threaded barrel and replaced the stock barrel. now i can see the back of the can in my sites.. I have a AAC EVO-45 and purchased it for my h&k USP tactical 45. the sites on the h&k are tall from the factory to see over the can, i had some trijacon night sites that were adjustable installed on the gun. i plan to put the same sites on the glock 21 soon and sell off the lower if i can get enough out of it (i have a glock 20 also and will use that lower for the 21 upper). the evo-45 works great on both the h&k and the glock (cans need to be wet to keep them quiet) with no feed problems at all. i am looking into a Jarvis barrel for my daughters Sig p220 so we can use the can on that too. to answer the question, yes the sites on a glock look at the back of the can, but the glocks are easy to change the sites and see over the can too. i have the same problem with my glock 19 and my evo-9 but soon to be fixed.

My eyes don't work that way.
Or maybe I should say that doing it that way I am not accurate enough for my taste.
I added a laser. I am more accurate now.
I added a Scope to the other frame.
I am tempted to make my sights taller, but ....

In was thing about supressed so I could pratcice in my home (I live in a warehouse) without disturbing my neighbors. But seeing the back of the can, or having high profile sights does not appeal to me.
Not sure how much higher than stock the sights would need to be. Would they clear my holster when not using the can?
I have high sights on my FN Five seveN. Look a little out of balance, but the holsters are built for them since these sights are standard. But, I think that even with a can, the subsonic "pop" might be loud, and I don't want to go to the more anemic sub-sonic 5.7 x28mm.
But, I think that even with a can, the subsonic "pop" might be loud,
The closest thing I have come across for the sound of my 45acp silencer is to stand in my garage and throw down a huge tum of a book.
The louder sound is sometimes the bullet smacking the target.

yes you would need a front site as tall af the 5.7 and a rear about the same. some holsters are no problem but others are tight (my usp tactical will NOT fit a serpa holster for the usp 45 but open top holster are no problem and fits in my safariland 070 with no problem at all) but just have to try b4 you buy.

There are several cans that won't interfere with your stock sights. Check out autoweapons.com as he has most of the state of the art cans. You may want to buy from someone else just because he is very pricey.
