View Full Version : sight question - ARMS 40L & Samson FFS Quick Flip
quick question...i recently installed an ARMS 40L flip up rear sight, and a Samson FFS Quick Flip to my stag flat top AR with gas block. went out today to sight it in, and had to click the rear windage ALL the way to the left. i am completely out of adjustment, and it puts the POI dead on. is this a problem? it seems odd to me. any advice or input would be appreciated.

You should not have to adjust the rear sight that much. Just a thought. You may want to check your mount position on the both sights. One or the other could be to far to one side.

Make sure that the sights are properly aligned on the rail. Also, check your front sight to see if the post is centered in the mount. Something appears to be misaligned.

ARMS sights have known problems of building their sights canted from time to time. Use a different rear sight to confirm if this is true and send the ARMS sight back in for warranty service.
ok...i swapped rear sights with a buddy, and i was still way off. i didnt want to screw up his windage so i left it alone. this tells me that it is either my front sight, or the gas block. is it possible that the whole gas block is canted and needs to be adjusted? coud it be anything else? just wondering how to proceed...thanks.

I've scene gas blocks and whole front sights canted. if you pull off the handguards and line the gun up you should be able to tell if that's the case.

I'm betting it's the gas block. Can you tell by looking at it visually?
