View Full Version : about those 33rounders...
went to the gun shop the other day to get some of those 33 round magazines everyone talks about. Well the guy said he didnt have any, just had (31) rounders. Well 31 is better than 15 so I bought it, took it home loaded it and filled it to 31, out of curiosity wanted to see if i could put 2 more in.... sure enough, they fit. Anyways did i buy 31 rounders that just happend to fit 33rounds or did i in fact buy 33 rounders that only have numbers counting to 31?

First - guys in gun shops often don't know jack.
Assuming it is a Glock factory mag, it is a 31 round mag with a Glock factory 7151 plus two extension in place of the floorplate, the same one you can put on any standard capacity 9mm/.40/.357 mag. It is supposed to hold 33 rounds. Since it reaches 33 only with the extension, the witness holes on the mag stop at 31.
It is commonly referred to as a Glock 18 mag since they were originally made for the select fire Glock 18.
Enjoy, they are fun.
What did you pay for it?

$40 ...that good or bad?
For a gun shop? I've seen worse. Gun shops are often bad places to buy guns. They are even worse places to buy accessories or ammo.
Online you can find a 33 rounder for $22 to $25. Of course you have to pay shipping and you have to wait.
Natchez SS is a good source:

Don't feel bad.
You mentioned 15 rounds in the first post. Do you have a Glock 19?
Welcome to GlockTalk.
:wavey:
:whistling:you tell us is it the one one the left or the one on the right and the mag will have a + on the bottom of the floor plate for it to be a 33 rounder :whistling:

Glock only makes those mags for 9mm right? I have seen them for .40 made by Scherer or something. I was afraid of buying a non-glock mag.

I have 2 Scherer's that have run perfectly so far, but others have not been so lucky. They seem to be hit or miss. One of mine has developed cracks in the side of the mag, so it probably won't last much longer.
