Superluminova problem, need help for buddy

My buddy has a 9MM PX4 storm that is approx. 10 months old and 2000 rounds through it. The problem is that 2 of the 3 sight dots no longer glow.
It looks like the center parts that are supposed to glow have fallen out. At any rate only 1 of the rear sights still works as designed.
Is this a known issue with these sights? Anyone with a similar experience?
I told him to call beretta about it but he seems reluctant, and before I end up calling them myself I just thought i would ask about it here.

Stuff like this is the reason tritium sights are fairly standard. The "charge them up" sights have been around, and don't always work.

I haven't heard about it with the PX4, but it was reported to be fairly common with 92s for a while. Maybe I am mistaken, but it has been known to happen. Beretta or the sight manufacturer should fix that.
