Just about to buy my first Glock. I am looking at the Glock 27 for a super concealable handgun. I would put the Pearce #1 grip extention on. I am interested in what type of accuracy I could expect and how easy is it to control with the .40 round (with the Pearce grip extender)? Any other comments would be great. Thanks a million, Mark.

mark, try doing a search on here about the glock 27 there are many a many thread about the accuracy and controlability of the 27. as well as a very recent pretty heated one titled "all glocks should be 9mm" ;Q
im a 27 owner, and i dont have weak wrists and recoil on handguns does not bother me. however if it does bother you then you may want to look at the 26 instead. most people will tell you to rent both and fire them and make your own call, this is good advice. i love my 27 and i wouldnt trade it for the world, for the record.

If you are going to put the extender on it, seriously check out a G23. A 27 with the grip extender makes the hard part to conceal, the grip, stick out just about as far as a 23 with a flush magazine.
I've got both and if I were only to get one, I would get the 23. Just about a perfect all around carry piece, big enough for a holster, small enough to conceal etc.
The 27 is a great little gun, though, and will serve well.

Mark, in previous posts I have also said what Herrglock says. With the extender the dimensions of the 27 are within small fractions of the 23. If you are hellbent on an extender get the 23. Otherwise I find the 27 very concealable and controllable. I can rapid fire 10 rounds of 155gr ammo @ 1140 fps from my 27 and keep it in an 8" circle at 7 yards. For self defense this is very adequate. It's your call 23 or 27...
OH...controlability is enhanced by supporting the grip by placing the left index finger (if you're a righty) in front of the trigger guard with some pressure. Notice how the guard is contoured to facilitate this...

You all have given me some things to think about. I will be looking into the G23 before I make my decision on the G27. Thanks again, Mark

Also, remember that the extension is an OPTION with the 27 - you can add it or remove it, but you can never make a 23 smaller. Plus, the barrel/slide length of a 23 is longer than the 27; that can make a carry difference.

I recently shot the California BSIS qualification course with my G27. I fired a perfect score with it and a rented G19. As with all Glocks, the 27 is accurate, controlable, reliable and the 26/27/33 size is very concealable. I would try to get used to presenting and shooting it without the grip extension. It takes away from the concealability and IMHO reliability. If you find you have to have the 3 finger grip, I would buy the G23 instead.
