I decided to replace the A2 stock on my DPMS .308 with a CAA collapsible stock, mostly for the rubber pad as opposed to the cleated A2 buttpad. I'm assuming that I will need a different recoil buffer but can't seem to find one for a .308 with collapsible stock.
Anyone know a good place to look?
Thanks.

Also, I didn't order a buffer tube because I had one for a standard AR15 collapsible stock. Will I need a longer buffer tube with no extension instead of what I have?
Thanks.

I've been kicking around the idea of getting one of those. I hadn't planned on spending that much, but the whole reason that I am changing my stock is because of recoil.
Has anyone tried a hydraulic buffer in a .308? Is the difference that noticable?
Thanks.

I've got no experience with an AR-10, but in my 5.56 the difference is dramatic. Almost no felt recoil, and minimal muzzle rise even on full auto. I presume it's the same with a .308.

Howdy,
DPMS also carries the buffers and springs for both the full stock .308s and the carbine stock .308s.

Thanks alot, I ordered the spring and buffer from DPMS. I'm still considering the Hydraulic buffer, but I figured as cheap as a standard buffer is I might as well go ahead and get one.

I talked myself into not one but two hydraulic buffers. One for the .308 and one for my varmint AR. Hopefully I'll like it. Am I the only one that manags to spend my tax return before I even file?
