I have tried several different types of sights before finally putting Sevigny's competition sights on my G34. I really love them. Shot an IDPA practice match last night indoors. BTY I emailed David Sevigny asking about his sights and he replied the same day. Here is a quote from his email:
To answer your question directly, I've found the plain black sight picture
offers the "cleanest" look for top speed and accuracy.
The rear sight surface is matted and smooth, with no distracting undercuts or
serrations. The front sight has serrations of 70 LPI so the contrast
between front and rear surface texture draws your attention to the front.
Bottom line....All Sevigny sights offer the best sight picture for speed and
accuracy and allow you to see what is important.....wide parallel light bars
for horizontal precision, and top flats that are longer than the front
sight top flat for vertical precision.
