Got the Big Dot installed on my G30.

Finally took the plunge and got the XS Big Dot for my G30. I got the front site installed no problem. I can't get my rear site out as the set screw is a size of hex that I don't have or can't find.

I had an Ameriglo Operator front with a Heinie Slant Pro Figure 8 rear. The Operator wasn't as good in the daytime as what I thought it would be. At night it is great.

I left the Heinie rear in the slide and just tried that out, visually. Unless the range proves otherwise, it's staying. I like the sight picture. The Big Dot front comes even with the top of the rear sight. The tritium dot in the front lines up perfect with where the Operator sight used to be. It is very quick to get aligned. I'm not a three dot type of guy, which is why I went with the Slant Pro/Operator in the first place.

I will take a better pic of the sight alignment later. I bought a new digital camera behind the wife's back and I am supposed to "run + $50 purchases by her first". Easier to ask for forgiveness than permission sometimes.

I'll try them out tomorrow at the range if I can get time to go.

Interesting combo. Let us know how it works out, especially concerning vertical spread of shots on target at slightly longer distances.
