I don't know if it is worth a 2 hr. drive or not.
Any info?

Wasn't impressed today. really wouldn't consider it worth a 2 hr drive especially.
Plenty of vacant tables, more than usual. Guessing that alot of that is because many of the regulars had to make a decision between going to Tri-State (at the fairgrounds in Lima) or going to Westland. Plus we have a show coming up at Vets Memorial in just a shade over a month, which should put the one at westland to shame.
I walked the whole show ooking for a couple knives in particular (CRKT's with the OutBurst feature) and there wasn't a knife worth a toss in that realm in the entire show. There was one guy that had a pretty good array of custom fixed blades, antler handles and such, but if that ain't the guy you were looking for, there wasn't squat for knives.
Gun prices seemed remarkably fair for a gunshow. Major maker AR's could be had for $800 in standard configs, plenty of glocks between $450 and $480, lots of Ruger in the house at fair prices. I did manage to score some decent defensive ammo (Gold Dots and Remingtom Bonded GS's) at decent prices, especially when I didn't have to pay shipping. Nothing so good that I had to buy people out of stock, but better than I'm used to seeing.
The usual array of bangers running around. the funny signs at the doors (drug sniffing dog, which I didn't see, nice smoke to go with those mirrors) and a dress code that required no colors, and pants that fit you in the crotch (seemed to miss lots of those at the door, oh well) bla bla bla. If there are good gunshows around, I'd sure like to know where they are, cause the PRO show here in town is quickly losing it's allure. I suppose it's a $7 donation to the cause, but it's sure a tough pill to swallow to call that admission.
Thanks for the info. Guess I'll just stay home.
The show up in the NE corner stinks too. Only a 20 minute drive and not even worth that.

I can't believe we had another PRO gun show two weeks after the last one in Columbus. They're usually not that close together.

I attended that show and I was also disappointed. The PRO shows just don't seem to be as good as they used to be, just back a few years when ago when they were at the county fairgrounds in Hilliard. The number of dealers and the attitude in general (in some cases) just doesn't seem to be as good as before. I went to Wilmington, and again, I was underwhelmed. I went to Springfield, same result. I'm really hoping that the Vets Memorial show brings PRO back up to what they used to be. The PRO organization is VERY important to us here in central Ohio, and I will still do my best to support them in any way possible.

Wow-learned something new today. With all the home rule issues, I thought this would be a great show to support. Any info on why it was cancelled.
Oh yea, not good!:steamed: Please pass the word so people don't drive down there Saturday, expecting a gun show. The is a horrible tragedy to PRO.

Message From Peoples Rights Board of Trustees
Last week the Board of Trustees of Peoples Rights Organization (PRO) was alerted that Mr. Mike Duve, who promoted and operated various gun and recreational shows, including the PRO Gun Shows under a sponsorship agreement with Peoples Rights Organization for more than 15 years, has fled the state, leaving behind a dizzying trail of debts, many improperly incurred in the name of this organization.
Thousands of dollars and other property belonging to Peoples Rights Organization is missing. Additionally, he has communicated to several people that he is leaving behind numerous highly indebted business and family obligations. He stated that he intends to default on all of his debts.
He has not paid numerous financial obligations related to gun shows that he has operated as "Shirt Pocket Inc," "PRO Gun Shows," "P.R.O.," and other names we have learned he was using in his business via several different post office boxes and addresses in Columbus.A search of his residence reveals that he shredded any and all documentation relating to gun shows, other business interests, and personal financing. Furthermore, he has indicated that he believes the authorities will not be able to find him.
Within hours of learning of Mr. Duve's actions, we referred the matter to the Franklin County, Ohio Sheriffs office for investigation and possible criminal prosecution. His whereabouts are unknown at this time.
In addition to severely damaging PRO financially, his acts have irreparably harmed the good name and credibility of the Peoples Rights Organization, a respected 19-year-old statewide not-for-profit firearms rights advocacy organization that provides marksmanship and personal safety instruction, and promotes citizen safety legislation at the state and local levels.
Peoples Rights Organization is providing information to the authorities to help them sort through the mountain of bills Mr. Duve left behind in a pile at his residence. The invoices, none of which appear to have been paid, are related to the gun shows he operated. Several individuals are working to contact vendors whom he has damaged -- most of which do not even yet know they have been severely harmed by his scheme.
As a result of his actions, the PRO Gun Show scheduled for April 5-6 at Franklin County Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Columbus, Ohio has been canceled.
Mr. Duve either destroyed or absconded with records of who had already paid for tables for this show, who had reserved tables, and who he had on a waiting list. In addition, from the records left behind, it appears the necessary permits to operate the show had not been secured. At this point, a number of people are working toward keeping the rest of the gun show schedule intact to the extent that that is possible.
We, the Board of Trustees of Peoples Rights Organization, view this as a criminal matter. We will urge criminal prosecution of anyone assisting Mr. Duve to evade justice. They will be pursued as an accomplice.
If you feel you have been harmed by Mr. Duve, we urge you to immediately contact the Franklin County Sheriff's Office at: 614/462-3350.
