Took my Desert Eagle out today and had a BLAST... Literally!!! the 50AE is truly a BLAST to shoot. My only gripe is the shell extraction!!! Got caught on the bridge off my nose and it opened up a little gash. OUCH!!! When I switched it over to .44 MAG I never happened even once. Firing the 50AE the shells were even bouncing off my hearing muffs. I was more concerned about getting hit in the face again that the recoil of the 50AE. Anyone else have this happen while firing their 50AE Desert Eagle? I think Magnum Research should have designed the shell to eject in a safer direction.:steamed: Geeez. thanks , Mike

How big a boy are ya?

The .50 is designed for the "gravitationally enhanced". One of those "gotta be able to take it to give it" deals. When it rips up and left the ejection port is pointed at your melon.

I know a 12 year old who is fast enough to duck the brass but I'm left with the Vulcan Death Grip as my only option. And Harry Carey style safety glasses and a hat.

Or you could work on hand and arm strength. Not as much fun as pizza and beer but equally effective.

.....somewhere else in these halls of knowledge, with the proper amount of practice and fortitude you will eventually retain the same amount of abbility as the rest of us DE owners.

You will be able to reach up with your teeth, pluck the hot brass outta the air(upon ejection),and quickly spit it into your left shirt pocket. This, without so much as a slight lip burn during rapid fire.

We here have all been able to accomplish this with the "normal" amount of practice.

It is also required before MR will allow your next DE purchase. Don't believe me ?? Call them and ask !

Shot mine 50AE last week and used my Chevy Pickup as a brass catcher. I leaned against tailgate let brass eject over my head into bed. Reloads I made were not hot enough to cycle the slide. Guess I better add a little more powder then maybe I too will be able to catch hot brass in my teeth.

My 50AE hit me with brass once. It was in the forehead and it wasn't fun.

Read the destructions, It will teach you how to hold the gun properly. I tried to explain it to my best friend but he was so excited about shooting it , he forgot and one hit him to. Do what they say and you shouldnt have any problems.
